Just wanted to spark some creativity amongst the board visitors (and see who else may be doing this). I can hit targets at 90m, do you know how?
ps for the love of god don't use the word "exploit" lol

Without you explaining how you're getting 90m, why shouldn't we call exploit?
I presume you've managed to find a different kind of arm than the standard +10 arms that add up to give you an 85m range? Perhaps some legs? Attachments?
Of course, in space you can shoot significantly further than that, so you could just be being silly? ;P

The answer is CYBERNETIC ARMS. You can get arms that add to your range. I know a BH who got two of them to boost his rifle range.

The only arms I've heard of have been +5 and +10 arms though, Spookibus. Even if you equip two +10 arms (left + right) it still only gives a range of 85m (65m standard + 20m additional).
Perhaps there's a rifle that shoots 70m? If so, that destroys the devs claim that we're not supposed to be able to shoot more than 65m.

Don't they only boost you to +79 though? How does he get the extra +10?

I'm calling BS on this one .
The only way to shoot at 90m is when your dreaming it in your sleep... wake up and you'll be back at 81m
Cause .. you should prove me wrong.. I'd love to know.

There has always been a little slop in the distance calculations
hit zones on targets that are larger then the point the system says you are targeting (Fambaa, Krayt etc)
also when grouped ask group members their distance to you - can be up to 10 m out normally and on swoops up to 100m out
therefore if you have 84m arms (2 x+10) you can using slop in the distance calculations sometimes hit at 90m (84m actual)
But I suspect this is not what he is talking about - I am very curious about this as well
- is there a food that increases range or a drug?
- no rifles that I currently know of (and I do not know everything) are 70m based
- SEA's as far as I know do not have Range + x stats (maybe a new one?(and should I ask for them - I hate the look of borg arms!))

***IF*** (big if!) we're going to be allowed to continue to shoot past 65m, I'd definitely like some kind of attachment that could increase our range. It would definitely have to be capped to, at most, +25 though. That's already getting into a dangerous area though. If SEAs were to stack with two +10 arms, that puts range at 110m. And you'd be able to use Stopping Shot at that range, too.
As funny as it would be, I'm not sure it's a good idea.
I've actually quit "wearing" my arm anyway. It stops me wearing too many clothing items and I've taken a shine to wearing clothes again, now that I don't have to wear my tin can all the time.
The "slop" sounds a likely explanation. I rarely get it to work in my favour, it's usually the reverse.

errr just trolling around to tell the truith but ever think about a tactical scope it adds X% to your range and at 12% thatll add a good 10m to you if you got the 2 cyber arms and a good rifle

Interesting theory there. Anyone have any tac. scopes to try this with? Powerups are a tad scarce for me.

you have some interesting theories, but I assure you it is not an exploit. Yes I do have the 5m and 10m arm. That is all for cybernetics. No attachments for range, no pups for range (don't think they exist anyways). You have to try and think about some other game mechanics if you are gonna get the answer.
this is kinda fun
