Thread: New to SWG and problems with my rifle
Got my game 4 days ago and reached Novice Riflemen a few hours ago.
I wanted to take a mission, I`m CL 15, the mission difficulty is 13. The mobs at the lair are 11.
Well and there`s my problem, I hardly do any damage to them but they do too much to me.
My other Skills are Scout: Exploration IV and Novice Medic and I`m using a DLT20a Rifle...
I really don`t know what I should do, thought green cons are easy
Thanks for help.
It`s jsut a single one.
And another thing I`ve noticed... sometimes it happens that a mob doesn`t lose HP when I attack it... and I`m also loosing no HP when the mob attacks me, but in the Combat Log are dmg numbers... don`t know if its a bug or if I`m doing anything wrong
I'm going to give you the best tip for getting XP. Now if you have reasons against doing this, by no means do you have to. This is just the best way to get XP currently.
1) Travel to Lok.
2) Get into gurk hunting missions with atleast one level 80 player.
3) Just do one hit with a rifle to everyGurk that is being killed, you should get 10K XP per creature until Tuesday, after then you will get 5K per creature.
If you don't like grouping then you have choosen the hard road and I can't help you since I mastered Rifleman........ Long long ago, before holocrons, before the evil of Dark Lord Koster's J3D-3Y3......

yep what he said. Grouping is by far the best way to get xp now, and if your in a good group, xp comes in very fast.
Some others things to note is specials.
At novice rifle man you should have at least 2 or 3 specials youve picked up along the way.
Take 2 that work well like placed shot and head shot or whatever you have i forget atm and servers are down so i cant check mine. hit ctrl-A to get the abilities menu and you can see all your combat specials.
Load three special icons into your function bar. One should be ranged shot its the standard for all gun users. The other two are up to which you think work best. (drag them from the action menu to the bar)
Now youve got all three there you have a few options. Either you can press alt to get free mouse movement on the screen and then hover your mouse over ranged shot and press ctrl and right click the icon at the same time. This will asign ranged shot as an auto attack. (may not need to do this part i was auto attacking yesterday without setting one) and then when you start to fight something you will allways default to this attack.
then you can throw some of the other specials in.
Or and this is what i do most. Just use special attacks only untill your action points run out and then use the standard ranged shot.
When you use a special youll notice all your icons start going from dark back to regular color again. Those are the timers. When you use one special the second one will wind up faster so you can jump back and forth between the two.
And remember your using a rifle it will eventually have the longest range of any of the weapons (lower level rifles have less range) Try walking up to 35m away or whatever your rifles max range is. Then trigger your attack turn around and run while still attacking. This will give you more hits on critters before they can hit you.
