Thread: pre-CU rifleman returning....totally confused

Okay, so I was a rifleman before the CU and left because of personal reasons. I finally return only to find EVERYTHING I knew before to be obsolete. Apparently I now have a "combat level" which is preventing me from taking out creatures I used to be able to take out with ease. My combat level is around 27ish. My question is what should I be doing now? Do I need to geta set of armor? I've seen many people running around without it. I picked up a spraystick since I can apparently no longer use my T21. Is that the "rifle" I should be using? And the main question, where should I be hunting now? I also would like to know when I can start grabbing badges to unlock my force slot. If I can combine hunting with that last question I'll be happy.

Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions!

OK...so you haven't played SWG in a while and came back AFTER the respec?? Damn

That means you have to take the grind. Take the best spraystick you can use, and start hunting down creatures near your level (if you're 27, do some creatures from 24-29). Anything above 30 would probably kill you. Also, if you're grinding solo, attack one at a time, that's how it goes now. If you're going with a group get missions that equal or are a bit higher than the highest level person in your group (say you're 27, and you grouped with a lvl 56. Now your combat lvl is now 56 as long as you're in the group). After the CU, you have to work in a group or else getting xp is near impossible, so go to dant and shout if you can join a group. (BTW, for every level something you kill is lower than yours, thats a 10% xp decrease (correct me if im wrong). For every level higher, you get a 10% xp increase, but anything that has a level higher than you will get an accuracy and a damage bonus, so be careful)

You're a rifleman, so you'd be wearing recon armor. Ubese is by far the best. At novice, Recon would lower your speed, rate of fire, and (something else I can't remember) by a lot. As you go up Rifleman, you won't be hindered as much. At master, you will have a 100% mitigation on your armor.

why is ubes the best? with tantel, you can get 1. more sockets 2. if you get them enhanced, more health, 3, you can wear a droid arm with tantel if you want one.

it does not... All recon armorsskins are exactly the same. They all max and min at the same points. (Reconarmor1 = reconarmor2 = reconarmor3 ) the only differences in resistances are the cores that the armorsmiths insert into them. If your tantel is not equal to your ubeses your armor smith just did not put the same core (though they can) into it.
