Thread: How to progess up the tree?
PvP Centric: Sniping 4 for ranged DB, then Countersniping 3 for an Area of Effect (AoE) attack, flushing shot 2. Then whatever...
PvE Centric: If you have supression fire, then getting headshot3 and mindshot2 first ain't a bad idea. Otherwise I would probably recommend Concealment1 for conceal shot. Once you have all of those, continue up sniping if you feel you want better accuracy, or move to countersniping if you would like to get an AoE as soon as possible.
Balanced: AoE's are great in both PvP and PvE, so wouldn't hurt to go for countersniping early. Or again, if you are craving better accuracy move up to Sniping 2 first and see how you feel there.
Really, there is no wrong way to do it, just go with whatever suits you the best. I took sniping 4 before anything else so I could feed my ego with the "Sniper" title... Then I maxed out Concealment, becuase I thought that I would get flurry 2 from special abilities before I would be able to get flushing 2, but I think that I slipped a digit or something in my calculations... I think that you will most likely find that it is best to leave Concealment 2, 3, and 4 as the last rifle xp boxes that you train, but to each his own.
You weren't unclear, that was just a lame attempt at being funny.
Check out Aldeaon's sticky post "Tips for Rifleman." Plenty of good information there including his suggestion to answer your question.
no worries, i's just being cheeky, it all depends on what you want to be able to do first, specials (far right tree) is not really a concern for deciding if you should or not, the only one that takes combat xp, but for the other 3 trees, IMO i would take sniping up to advanced right away, it gives you accuracy, ms2, hs3.
then it's up to you if you want the ranged DB in PVP, by taking sniper 4, my next skill would be inter. conceal tactics, conceal shot is great for single creatures/npc, because you can keep hitting them without them aggroing you (until you miss)
i guess then go for counter sniping, that's how i'm doing it, i'm having some success so far.
what do you other riflemen think?
