Thread: Riflemen in PvP
I am novice rifleman. i get owned in PvP. i shoot a headshot or mindshot to start, might even take 1/2 or more of my targets Mind pool in 1 hit.
then the KD spam starts and game over. can riflemen comepte in PvP? i have no answer for KD spam.
plus pistols are doing 60-70 DPS easy. if i get a 60-400 rifle at 5 speed, that only 40 DPS or so. this assumes no one is sliced or powered up.
seems are guns are weaker, we cant stop KD spam....., we have no long range advanatge to speak of. at least if it were tough to hit KD at 50+ m i could use flurry shot or supress and keep my opponent at range, but a pistol at 50+ m will hit near everytime even if im prone and taking cover.
am i wrong? do i just need better tactics? or just support from the back and hope the KD spammers dont target me.........
Could be wrong but I am seeing average 500 damage hit every second (2 max) with my sliced/powered T21:
T21 - 5.9 delay, 143-516 damage
specials in PVP hit for real damage of 400-500
skill tree currently: 0/0/2/3
makes my pistoleer skills look like an absolute joke considering:
average hit is 230 every second or two
DX2 - 2.3 delay, 77-134 damage
specials in pvp hit for real damage of 100 or so on average, 300 on stopping shot
We need an in game damage parser badly. Would know for sure, real damage output, but I am not using a rifle because it does less damage than a pistol. For me it appears at least that the rifle way outdamages pistol. Now if the DX2 was like 200-400 damage it would be a different story.

what do you mean every second? if your speed is 5.9? you talking about the rifleman speed skill bonus?
also, u may get a great 1st hit, but once the KD spam starts, its all for naught, isnt it? what good is hitting for 500 PvP dam. every second if you are just rolling around being KD-ed to death?
Yes, it appearsa real time shots from my T21 are about 1-1.5 seconds apart, which is about the same as my pistol, but the pistol does less damage per shot. This must have something to do with the speed modifier. I do not get this same modifier with pistoleer it seems. Pistol does not speed up nearly as much as my rifle does with speed modifier. If the pistol did speed up like the rifle did with speed mods then it would be closer in damage, bu this does not (appear) to be the case.
With three riflemen, one medic, and 6 pets in group, PVP KD's are not much of an issue for me as of yet, sure we get knocked down once in a while, but pets combined with big damage shots usually win in the end. PVP in itself is still a one/two shot affair which still needs work. KD's should only last a second or two to be fair. Right now anyone can knockdown and keep down anyone else indefinitely with some action pool heals, this needs to be changed. I have only died twice however from KD's. Usually my pet (I am master CH also) keeps them distracted long enough to get my shots in.

You can also do your own version of KD: FlurryShot1 (for dizzy effect) and SupressionFired (for posture lowering). Best to use a spray stick for this combo in PvP.
Truth is, though, if they get 1 KD off on you, you're probably going to have a tough time of it no matter what you do. Hence the coming nerf.
That speed he is talking about is at master rifleman. I am still climbing the tree myself. When I feel froggy and want to pvp, I bring along my pets. Three Stormtroopers and a CL15, help a bunch in PVP. I bleed them, then get out of there pistol range while the pets beat on them. Then get back in and finish them off.
Yes its cheap, but we have to be sneaky to pvp effectively after the 75% damage nerf if you are not a master. I hunt players and don't do town raids, we stink up close. Also picking up some med skills help alot, some stim c's will keep you alive longer when they are plinking away at you.
We can heal there damage, they can't heal ours. Unless they are a bounty hunter with eye shot or a combat medic with diseases, which seem to be the flavors of the month.
