Thread: Help my weaponsmith make a T-21
My weaponsmith on Eclipse is one of the best.....at pistols and DLTs. However he doesnt understand why we would want a slow T-21 when he can make fast Laser Rifles and stuff. See to him speed is everything. Well on a DLT its nice but on a T-21 its instant death....to the Rifleman.
So for a T-21 on a person who is going for Master Rifleman the target speed should be?
i say 7 secs but im not master yet. And my 7.5 fires pretty quick for me.
Give me a target Speed for him to aim for when he makes them. And explain why that is a good speed. So i can show him this thread and maybe he will understand it. Also explain our speed bonus a little so he can grasp that too compared to pistol users.
Thanks alot
I'll explain the speed bonus first.
The speed bonus skill is a _direct_ percentage reduction of weapon speed, lower bounded by a hard limit of 1.0 seconds.
Thus, a master rifleman with 90% weapon speed reduction skill has his weapon speed chopped off by 90 percent. So the 8.4 speed rifle in a master's hands fires every 0.84 seconds, in theory. In practice, 0.84 is less than 1.0, so round up.
Or, if you use a rifle with 7.5 speed, you'll fire every 0.75 seconds, again rounded up to 1.0.
Thus, the target speed for a gun you want to make is 10.0 seconds. I don't believe you can even make a gun that slow.
If you get master marksman too, I think that adds an additional 5 percent to speed, and so you're target speed is anything faster than 20.0 seconds.
Basically, if you're a master rifleman, you don't care what speed you get. Not one bit. You _throw_ _away_ rifles that get a speed slice from your smuggler friends and try again till you get damage modifiers. I've destroyed two t21's already for this reason, and I too amon Eclipse, and haven't even played in about a week and a half.
