Is anyone Suprised its completely worthless?
I only tested it on 2 mobs but the HAM costs are far too high and the dmg was about 300 above a normal shot, and you have too use it from a covered state which is another worthless ability. Concealed shot is better, Higher DMG and can be fired from any position. Going Prone is like asking for mobs too warp on you and shove a Baton up your ass.
Oh well all that waiting for a crappy high ham low dmg shot.

I wish the devs would quit toying with us on this one. What is the shot's purpose. I agree that all it seems to be is a less damaging, higher costing conceal shot. And I mean a lot less damaging, even though swgcenter says conceal should have a damage modifier of .75 and surprise has 2.
Although it does continue to surprise. It was a surprise when it only worked with a carbine, and now its a surprise that a third tier skill is less useful than a first tier skill.
I am thinking that suprise shot used to be much more useful/damaging than it is now. After all, there is an entire defense skill (Alertness) with the sole purpose of defending against suprise shot.
I think it was probably taken out for redesign/balancing, and instead of taking the time needed to fix the skill properly, they just band-aided it up as a mediocre special attack with no real use. Stops us from complaining that it doesn't work, I guess. ![]()
well, conceal shot doesn't get you agro when it hits, surprise shot will still get you agro after like 3 shots of it....
so yeah, even more worthless than conceal
