Novice rifleman here.

When I group with my buds, my xp earnings go waayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy low. Sometimes as little as 100 or 200 xp even when we fighting rancors or gaping spiders, etc, etc. Is there anything I can do, besides solo, to improve my xp earnings while groupped? Thxs. I am currrently only at 0-0-0-0 25k pts away from 1-0-0-0.

What tactics do you usually use? Weapon, etc?

I learned not to use headshots with a group since I'm the only rifleman in a group with bounty hunters, commandos, and creature handlers (or so it seems). I found that just doing generic /attack allows you to shoot faster than using specials, even if you don't do as much damage per hit it usually evens out. You are affecting the same pools that the rest of the group are to help kill faster, and you aren't depleting your mind pool!

Other than that, at 0-0-0-0, welcome to the hardest days of your life. =P

yeah at 0-0-0-0 there isn't much you can do other than get a fast laser rifle and standard attack. also helps to go up sniping branch for +92 rifle accuracy, and tray as hard as you can to get up the combat line, rifle speed bonuses. once you get startle shot and flurry shot and what not, it's helpful to use those in groups. but solo, cover + conceal shot baby, if you don't miss, they never see ya.

Do your group mates even try to keep the target in a good position for you?It is not hard for them to kite back and forth without fouling your aim or tank it in place for you. Basicly Riflemen can hold thier own in groups but not when the other players are ignorantly working against you.

Ok, I'll stay up the special moves. Yes, i have fast laser rifle. I was using a lot of specials, I'll lay off. Usually I try to stay back, 40 to 60m from group. If I am at 60 i use laser or t21 if I am a 40, I use jawa cannon or 20a. Does that make sense?

man, i get good xp in my groups usually.. i used to steal most of it when i first got my T21. i just put mindshot 1 and 2 on it then start headshot 3 on it.. i can sometimes take it out faster then 2 grauls, a BH, and pistleers could take out its Health and Action :0P

but then you're working against the group. If you were hitting health you'd bring the mob down even faster, possibly saving lives or damage.

Why bleed? You're only draining XP from the group and yourself.

I personally went up the counter snipe tree to counter III for the AOE. Now instead of engaging a camp with 3 or 4 critters and getting good exp for 2..I usually hit all 4 for up to 3800 a shot if they are all close together. For solo work get a non-ch pet if you aren't a CH already, and send it in first to draw the critters into a close group, and kill them all in 2 shots (white con down...a few more for yellow). i am now a 4,0,3,3 Rifleman.
