Doesn't food also create downtime though?

One of my friends gave me Ruby Biel (+71 mind, I forget the time) as a free gift, so I drank one and four squares filled up in my drink-meter. After a half hour (much longer than the timer on the food), my drink bar was still not empty yet. This would seem to me to be a downer of sorts.

While there will be times when you are not 'buffed', there is no time when you are more vulnerable than if you had not eaten/drunk as there is with spice.Unless caused by the food itself, there is no drawback, only benefits -even if they are temporary.

I ammessing around with Zabrak Rifleman. I started with a Zabrak Medic at Creation. They get a 900 max willpower to start. That regen on the willpower is very fast. A lot faster than my Wookiee Rifleman with 600 willpower. It really does help as I seem to almost never have to sit down very longeven after healing. Master dancer buffs are supposed to last up to two hours same with master musicians. I would not take spice unless fighting PvP ,too much downtime. Definitely looking into what food to craft. Also one more thing too point out there will be more rifles coming down the pike so do not get hung up designing a template around a specific weapon. Pick the class that appeals to you most , have fun, and enjoy the game. Flavor of the month classes will come and go, weapons will be added, and weapon powerups make a huge difference along with slicing. This class is going to go through alot of growing pains same as other classes, just ride it out, in the end , over time, things will work themselves out. Every class has advantages and disadvantages. Riflemen are fun to play but it does take patience and tactics.

Max, the problems aren't much different than what you would find on any other profession board on these forums. We want to be the best in PvP, do good damage, low speed, low HAM costs, etc.... Pick a board at random and you will see every other profession making complaints about how their class is broken and that <insert flavor of the month class here> has it so much easier. Just stick with it and you'll be fine. I love the class. Of course there are things I don't like about it, but you take the good with the bad I guess. Happy hunting.

Wait, so I should stick with rifleman although I have screens of pistoleers claiming 3400 dps and screens of pistoleers doing me 450+ dmg a shot (with armor on)? And your going to tell me thats... ok? As soon as I need SP elsewhere these Ill GIVE you these rifles Ive got man. Its easier for me to kill things and run missions with a scout blaster and Pistols III than it is for me as a rifleman, and thats the plain truth.

How could a pistoleer possibly do 3400 dps. I run with a master pistoleer and his best shot does about 1500 and the fastest shot is 1 second. Now myself my best shot is 4300 damage at... 1 second. My guild was screwing around tonight and the pistoleer couldn't beat me and Me and the BH were 50/50. Yeah the pistoleer could hit me 400 every now and again. I was averaging 600 against him and a few times did over 1000 (ie instakill).

If you are a rifleman and find it easier to "run missions with a scout blaster and Pistols III" Then do me a favor and put away your rifle and pick up a pistol cause you don't deserve this class.
