Thread: Conceal shot is good for something!
Excuse the shameless boasting butI single-handedly took down at AT-ST using Conceal Shot today. I'm not sure if I'm the first to do this but I had to share it with someone...
Today didn't start well. I found an Imperial base outside my front door when I logged on, guarded by a lonely looking AT-ST. Fitting a damage power-up, I moved in to position. After a few shots, the AT started stomping around. I waited for it to stop, took a new position and started firing again. This was repeated for a while until the AT, having moved too far from its base, decided to de-spawn. I moved back to the encampment, only to find a shiny, fresh AT-ST.
Shrugging off the loss of 6k damage to the previous machine's health bar, I got back in to position and started shooting again. This time I was lucky. The AT-ST seemed confused and would only move one or two steps in each direction before stopping. This meant I could safely lay prone and plug away at it. I normally find that with Conceal Shot I can miss twice before the target realises what's going on. This take-down made extremely stressful by the fact that I missed very early on - anything less than a rock-steady shot and the thing would have one-shot killed me. I had to stop and rest on several ocassions, sometimes setting up a camp to speed my mind's recovery, but I did it.

It took 45 minutes, 4 cigarettes (it's a nerve-wracking business, sniping), 2.5 power ups, 2 Ice Blasters and my dear, dear T-21.
Take hope riflemen and Rebels alike!
first: 15 fp for killing an at-st? I get that for killing imp captians, which I can two shot.
second: that's about as much xp as a rancor, rancor are level 50, at-sts are level 125. anybody else think a little more xp would be in order there?
third: good job! when I see those camps spawn my strategy is to send my creature at the atst and convince it to run off, my creature will often just go running off if I don't stop it, so I just wait for my creature to run off, the atst follows, once it's out of range I destroy the camp. by the time the camp is dead so is my creature and I store it through the datapad.
Shhh, you can kill almost anything with it given enough time. It will be nerfed, if this stuff gets around
Me and my friend were killing Ancient Bull Rancors with it this weekend. We are going Jedi hunting next weekend.
Just stay 40-64 meters away from your target and stand up then peace if you miss. They changed almost all mobs to BAF last patch because of this I think. Ohh almost forgot, Filthy Rebel you will pay for your actions!![]()
Yes, I was a little disappointed by the amount of Faction Points received. You'd think that destroying a valuable piece of military hardware would merit a little more, even if there are plenty more where that came form. And yes, I did think the XP was a little low, considering that two Stormtroopers will earn me more. However, the sense of achievement more than balances it out.
T21 with 32 percent mind / 16 percent min dmg
Muon Gold
1 Decent Stim
5 Min time
And you can solo an AT-ST with conceal shot IF there is not another Imperial NPC close.
I do it all the time around Anchor Head when my fellow rebels are not bright enough to realize that LARGE IMPERIAL BASE missions = AT-ST.
....
Pop Muon Gold.
Go prone.
Hit Take Cover 4 to 5 times (as a master rifleman...more if your not a master).
Spam Conceal shot.
You miss and your toasted by AT-ST.
After about 3 min the HAM costs of conceal shot will have gotten your Health/Action very very low.
Peace. Stand. Heal self.
Go back to prone.
Try to Take Cover again.
Spam Conceal shot.
Again if any other imperial NPC is near the AT-ST conceal shot will not work.

I tried this again yesterday as a Master Rifleman and I missed on my 3rd shot. I was incapped before you can say...ooops!
You get a wooping 15 faction points and the AT-ST never drop loot or cash.

Wait, so they finally got this working? I may have to start working up the sniper tree if that's so. I thought it was still broken and never bothered with it.
If the mob BAFs, the friends will still attack you.
