Rifleman Archive

When I was working my way to Master Commando, I kept noticing that I would get more xp when used my Flamethrower than if I used a Pistol (not sure about Launcher Pistol). I didn't note any concrete numbers at the time, it was just something I noticed. However, I have since dropped Master Commando and am working on TKA/Rifleman. My current character is Commando 0/0/4/0, TKA 1/0/1/0, Rifleman 0/0/2/1, CH 2/1/1/1. Today I decided to test my theory. I was on Talus grouped with my pet (pet did not attack). I used foaming vynocks as my test.

XP gained using Flamethrower: 1026

XP gained using Vibroknuckler: 1026

XP gained using T-21: 923

Now, I always thought that the higher you are in a tree, the less XP you got. So I figured that the flamethrower would get me less xp than either of them. Am I misunderstanding something or is something wrong with Rifleman?

It's not how high up you are, it's how close you are with that weapon to the level of the mob. Now, how to calculate those levels, I donno.
