Thread: Snipers?
i'm new to the boards since i' mastering armorsmith, i thought it'd be cool to go sniper for combat,
maybe someone has answered this b4 but basically:
i got my hands on a t21, why is the max range that same as a pistol (62m). should we be able to shoot at a farther distance being snipers. kinda ruins it if yo have to get in front of their face to be in range to take a shot. no to mention the delay is almost 6 times that a of a pistol.
any input on this is much appreciated.

Well, at master rifleman you will shoot specials at about 1.5 seconds per shot - so that takes care of the speed.
as for the range, this has been an issue of heated debate and angst amongst rifleman since day 01. who knows - but right now, we're stuck at 64m.
personally, i think it would be far too unbalancing if we could shoot at 70m and no one else could. But, no weapon should be nearly as accurate as we are at 50-64 - which right now just isn't the case. also, accuracy bonuses do not scale correctly. you get +40@60m and -50@64m with the same rifle, as an example. that just aint right.
But anyways, work your way to master rifleman and the speed will come 
When I first started playing I saw what the rifleman was and at that point it was very easy to snipe people. Now we are more or less machine gunners since the 75% pvp change. I still carry the cool tittle of sniper though. Ranged DBing people makes it a lot easier when you are machine gunning a person down still. As for one shot kills its almost impossible unless at master since you then get a x5 multiplier on SS2.
On a side note I also seem to get less l33t talk when I DB someone with sniper shot rather than walking up and DBing them. Not sure why this happens but my assumption is that most l33t kiddies are to lazy to type /t <persons name>. I guess they would rather /tt you instead.
