I just dusted off a character on Starsider after getting bored with my BH on Flurry and I was wandering...

Has anyone tried Rifleman Swordsman?

I was working toward that so I could do head shots and then continue to do head shots if the target closed to melee. I just thought I would ask if there's any pitfalls to this strategy or if works as good as it sounds.

Also, what's the prefered weapon for a rifleman? I've been using an SG82 and was impressed by the cold damage.

And last question - is anyone able to make an effective wookiee bowcaster? I'll be getting rid of the one I own due to the 8.0 speed (ouch!)

On Starsider get a T-21 or Laser Rifle, much better for general useage than your SG82. On the swordman thing your gonna have to ask someone else.

H.Sword/Rifleman is a great combo. I'd still be that had it not been the 140 sp needed for MR. MRM/MR is 232 and keeping the support tree in Marksman is 14 leaving 4 points left... only enough for one pistol and one carbine box. Something had to give...

well im a swordsman/rifleman and i use 4 bleeds on my target......VERY deadly. Its funny cuz when they see a novice brawler tag on my name for PvP they assume im a weak character...then i whip the T21 out

As soon as i headshot/strafe2 folks a few melee will get in close to me....so i whip out the trusty power hammer and WHAM mind hit 2 or head hit 3..........ooooooo its fun! Of course im high on moun gold but hey, we do what we need to do to survive lol. so yeah i think the combo is a good one.

Master Rifleman/ Heavy Swordsman 1 4 0 3 /Master Tailor

It's a great combo, I'm doing it now.

For leveling, do this; get a high damage T21 and go to Dantooine. Get Picket Plains missions. When you get there, go prone and hit each Picket about3 shots with Concealshot, then /peace. Now hit at least 2 of them with Mindshot2. Jump up, switch to 2H sword and rush in to start the decapitation process. You'll get about 1.5k to 2k per kill. Leveling just sails right by.....

I just made BattleMaster with 2h swords and I'm very close to getting Sniper. I love the combination. The one-shot kill are awsome but if I miss...I throw on my armor and start bashing with my power hammer like Gallegher to watermelons!! Sometimes I get a good hit with the powerhammer and do 3000+ mind damage. On average I get 2000+ damage wtih it.

My favorite part is when they run up to mewhen I have my rifle, but as soon as the see my PowerHammer they turn tail and run. The I just pull the rifle out again and hit the SOB in the head.They'll lose either way!

Ialmost forgot to mention the best part...as a rifleman you get melee defense bonus which goes perfect with 2h swords.

i am rilfeman/swordsman but i i havent used rifle for a while because i picked up ch and use my graul to tank. the sword does way more damage then my rifle so i have been using that. but when they do the changes to the ch tree i am gona pick up enough medic to buff myself and and start using rifle/sword again.but it is a very good combo

Thanks for the feedback Fred - I thought it sounded good so I'm gonna see how far I can climb rifleman / h.swordsman / ch with this wookiee (I'm not looking to master any of them, just get proficient enough in all 3 to hold my own and try the Jabba theme park).

I'm curious about ranger though, I got so sick of making camps to get BH on Flurry, that I never even considered it. What are the big perks for being a ranger?
