Okey, so Im one of the filthy people who follow holocrons It said master rifleman which made me somewhat disheartened. Rifle was my starting profession in July and I got to 3133 before I dropped it ( Bitter ? Me ? Naah ! ) So I already the know that Im not going to be overly enjoyed over having to do it all over again.

Anyway, some day ago I bit the bullet and started the journey ( Deja vu ! ) Its slow as heck, the melee-penalties are outrageous if you consider the rifles power ( at least in the start ) And it chews mind, the one stat that cant be healed or buffed easily. So at novice level I went to Talus and started the trip. Well, I already had the first combat-xp-box since I had some of that stuff stocked. And right now I get 60k xp per hour which isnt really satisfying. From what I have read on these boards, flushing shot 2 seems to be the way to go ? Im currently 250k away from that so its doable in a few hours tomorrow ( If the evil warp-god looks away ) After Flushing shot 2 I guess I should try get some of the accuracy boxes ? Right or wrong ?

Now the big question : In order to speed this up a bit I guess the Flushing Shot 2 with its AoE will be nice. Will it work if my buddy ( Master TKA with buffs - Even me is buffed - Im a doc as well ) runs to a lair, smashes it a few time, gets all the critters on him and then go defensive and let me spam Flushing shot 2 ? How much AoE ( area of effect ) is this special ? Will it cover the area of my buddy and 5-6 critters meleeing him ? If yes, what critters do you recommend ?And will the creatures remain agroed on my friend even if Im blasting away at them ?

Might as well mention the rifles I got for this grind. Even if you wont be happy over it

#1 Ordinary Laser-rifle thats 5.7 speed and 19-700 when pwrupd ( sliced for 30% dmg )

#2 Prepatch T21 thats 232-744 when pwrupd. 9.3 speed however

#3 Loot Laser-Rifle thats 19-574 (Unsliced and unpoweruped !! ) at 5.0 speed. It also has a mind cost of 19 which allows good spamming. Slicing this one will be interesting....

Give me some advice ! I also have a ATST actually, but I dislike to use it :/

Since the patch, Conceal Shot is the shiznit and the biznatch and all them other words These Kids Today(tm) seem to use.

That would be my recommendation. Get Conceal Shot first (0/1/0/0) and then go from there.
After that, the world will be your mollusc.

I hunt solo 99.999% of the time, so I am probably not the one to provide sage insight on hunting in groups.

For a more in-depth analysis of Conceal Shot and what it's done for Riflemen, see my post in this thread:

I -always- used Conceal Shot (currently 4 1 3 3) because when it worked, I never got hit ~at all~.... which is good because I could only ever take, oh, two hits? When it fails, it fails spectacularly (locking out all other actions for a good 10 seconds with my rifle / speed mods)... so basically when you see all the enemy HAM bars light up, hike up your skirts and run away.

But it -does- work, now. I can finally shoot at one Piket and his friends won't stomp me into pate... each Piket's around 3 - 4k exp... nine piket in a mission-spawn lair plus the lair... 30k - 40k exp ~and~ the mission payout. Not bad at all. Conceal Shot is ~slow~ I will admit... but it's SAFE. And I spend less time running around looking for single targets than I used to do... and I spend less time running back from the cloning center (with my now-damaged clothing )

Frankly, I can't see myself using any of the uber AE we get (just got Flushing Shot2 and Flurry Shot 2 last night and haven't tried them yet).... if they can't kill the foes in one hit, then it looks like I'd just have a horde of angry monsters chasing me, probably spreading out JUST enough that I couldn't hit them all with a second AE... but even if I did, would TWO AE attacks be enough? I doubt it. Takes like 25 shots to take out one force-wielder (eleven down so far for me, slooow work).

So, Conceal Shot. Sniper's best friend.

I have even stat-migrated my health to as low as possible since, if I GET aggro, I get incap'd ~anyway~ I see little point in "wasting" stat points there.
