I suck at PvP and would like some advice on how to hold my own when attacked.

I have 1 1 0 0 in Rifleman, 2 4 2 4 in CH, and am a Master Medic.

I wear Ubese armor and use a T21. I usually solo and am not in a Guils so when attacked I am most always alone.

Can anyone give me advice on how to defend myself or maybe even get the better of a Reb player attacking me?

Any info is welcome and appreciated. I am simply just clueless on PvP.

Well first off with that amount of skills and that weapon it would take you about 5 to 15 min to kill a player just standing there and 2nd ubese armor is total crap compared to composite. What you need to do is get some brandy and ahrisa then master rifleman then get some money and buy comp armor then you can pvp but until that you just cant win.

Ubese armor doesn't stand up to, or protect against the more common damage types and is therefore fairly ineffective in PVP. For PVP battles, you will at a minimum want to be doctor buffed and ideally musician and dancer buffed also. You'll want to have eaten synthsteak early, be wearing a Personal Shield Generator, have high % stun resist composite armor, and be drinking BE enhanced vasarian brandy and canape (canape for PVP, ahrisa for PVE). I say that you'll want all these things because you can assume that most of your opponents will - the PVPing crowd is the most equipped, battle-prepared crowd on any server and they will eat you alive if you aren't on a similar level.

I can walk out of the house, throw on the crumby grinding armor and get a quick, low-end doc buff and go krayt hunting, but when I go out for PVP, I have to pull the effectiveness-sliced, super-encumb, 35% stun resist, attachment-lathered armor out. I visit the cantina for 2 buffs that take 10 minutes each, I seek out a friend doc that can get me 2700+ HAM, I eat synthsteak long before the battle, I make sure I have the damage weapons set up right on my toolbar, I have the accuracy weapon hot-keyed and ready with key shots/macros on the toolbar, and....worst part is, I'm not excellent at PVP, there are still folks that are way better.

Beyond that, riflemen is unfortunately not a class that is incredibly effective till master. I personally do not recommend getting into another fight till you're master unless you appreciate being a faction farm for your opponents. Your accuracy is currently 65 vs. 160 at master and your speed is currently 30 vs. 90 at master. Your best PVP shot that you currently have is mindshot2, but you don't havea headshot or other power shot to follow it up. Creature handler is very ineffective in PVP and I donot recommend using pets as they die extremely fast and rarely if ever get in even one special attack on an opponent before they are incapped.

Well, the single biggest thing you can do is master Rifleman. A Master Rifleman has skills that dwarf what you will have at that level. Don't feel bad if you aren't all that effective at that level, just remember the best is yet to come. Once you master rifleman get yourself a good T21, Jawa and Disruptor (these cost a pretty penny, also wait until you get the cert.). Get them all sliced and add power ups. Pick between these weapons as the situation changes. Remember that composite is going to be anywhere from 60%-90% resistant to energy and/or acid whereas stun protection is going to be around 40%. A lot of pople who just dable in PvP however don't have any stun protection, in which case a Jawa is your best friend. The T21 is great for use against turrets and most NPCs (or people who try and PvP without armor) and does a fair amount of damage to people due to its AP3. The disruptor is a great weapon to use because while it has okay damage and AP2 it does acid damage, which while protected against by composite, goes right past PSGs which are vulnerable to it. So against a PvP dambler or someone you know to not have a stun suit, use a Jawa. If the guy you're fighting does a lot of PvP then they most likely have a stun suit with a PSG so you might want to switch to your disruptor rifle as the Jawa's damage can really get reduced.

Right now I will attack someone with the special shot that has stun in it to lower their defenses and then land a few mind bleeds and spam head shots. Against a turret I use Strafe 2.

To keep yourself alive longer get a good suit of composite with a stun layer and a good Imp PSG. Get both sliced (the PSG may get a slice for encumbrance, which is useless, but if you get lucky and hit an effectiveness slice it will help). You always want to be buffed, and in my opinion a musician/dancer buff is really important. Then use foods and drinks based on the situation. Brandy is a favorite but there are a ton of these, do a little looking and find out what works best for you. I only use spice as a last resort, but I do keep it as a hotkey so I can get it quickly, and remember you can't get an item from a crate while in combat. Currently there is a bug where you have to remove/re-equip your PSG a lot, make sure its working when you go into battle.

I have my HAM set so everything is at minimum with mind and focus up to 1,100 and willpower at 800. This is because of the power of doctor buffs.

Keep in mind that you will want to change your tactics based on the situation. In my opinion if you really want to PvP drop CH and get doctor so you can cure your own disease/poison which you will get hit with multiple times in most large PvP events.

If you can afford it buy SEA and deck out your stun suit. If there are fencers or other melee fighters there, don't let them get close enough to you to hit you with a lunge, if they can't hit you, you have a serious advantage in the battle. Be prepared to burst run though. Just sort of a basic overview of what I do, hope it helps. Don't know how things are going to change with the combat revamp which is right around the corner, who knows what will be good advice then.
