I am an aspiring Master CH/Rifleman and have a question;

When I acquire conceal shot will I be able to have my pet hit 'em for the CH experience without blowing my cover? Or will a pet attack agro the NPC/Critter?

That would be terrible A.I. If the handler were concealed and the Monster did not agro an attacking pet.

If a pet attack caused the critter to agro the creature handler then your pets would be fairly worthless.

If your pet is tanking ( accepting the agro melee ) you would not use concealing shot.. its slow and does less damage and does not

apply states like so many other shots.

if you are using conceal shot just have your pet guard you, that way if the npc/animal aggros you pet will attack and tank it out. but if you need the CH exp send you pet in to attack and then you can conceal away. but as the other post said if you already have a tank conceal shot is not the best attack to use depending on your rifle skills.

Master Rifle/CH here.

If you want CH xp you should prone and start picking off the beast with your best headshot. Send in your low level pet to get one hit before the mob falls. Once you get good at gauging what your pet can handle for tanking you can send him in to hit 3-4 different things at once, gather them around him and you can AoE fire on all of them. This gets tricky though as for the most part you are going to want a low level pet attacking a high level mob for the best CH xp, and unless you have mastered rifle, you probably won't be able to kill them quick enough...there are some tricky aggro gaining caveats to this as well...

If you are more concerned about getting aggro while fighting something you can't otherwise handle (1 of the only uses for conceal shot) then the other post is right. Use your pet to guard you so that if you do get aggro you can get away. Of course, make sure that this is something your pet can tank before you decide to do this. If it isn't it is going to come down to whether you want the incap/DB or you want your pet to take it for you.

I think I have strayed from topic though...

If you use conceal shot and send your pet, you will get xp and your pet will get aggro, but as has already been said, this is not as effective as using a higher damage single pool attack like the headshots.

Thanks for all the response, I should have articulated my thoughts better.

The problem is that I am essentially low levevl Rifleman & CH (with a couple boxes here and there)looking to level in both simultaneously.Consequently, I was looking to kill tough creatures with a ~15 CL pet.

However, I was either A) tanking with 15 CL pet and finishing em off with my Krayt T21 = good Rifle XP & dead pet (no CH xp), or B) trying to find a creature i could get down low, send in the pet for it's one hit, and then finishing of the mark, which resulted in me either killing it before the pet gets a chance, or picking a fight with something too big & no tank;dead me, dead pet, no XP.

Finally, my thought was that with conceal I could chip away at large creatures typically out of my combat limits without getting agro'd, and then send in the pet for the hit before the final shot. Subsequently providing me with significant rifleman and creature XP for one kill. Does this appear to be logical?

Turns out the answer was to sit behind 3 Jedi in the Geno caves for two hours trying to have my pet get a hit before they killed the NPC. I did 200K CH XP in just under 2 hours (leveled from 1111 to 2222). I couldn't believe it, that place is heaven on earth for rifleman, CH, and prolly combat in general. I was leveling in rifleman like crazy too, but it was tough to manage both so I'll come back later for the rifle xp.

Thanks for the input
