Since the t-21 is AP3, where acklay is AP2 it will get a bonus in damage. Where as the DXR6 will not, use the t-21. Its to late to do the math, I am tired but cant sleep. Ill do the math for you in the morning if no one else does by then.

With medium armor piercing on the Acklay and the T-21 having heavy armor piercing, you'll get a 25% damage bonus.
I don't know if this is right, but I'm guessing that if you use a T-21, the Acklay will still have 45% resists to energy, but you'll be doing a 25% bonus damage, so it will be like the Acklay has 20% resists to energy, but ONLY if you use the T-21. Thats the way I figure it anyway.
(I don't know if thats right, so don't hold me to it)

Hiya,
Hoping someone can answer this and give me a brief explanation. Out of these two guns, which would be the best to do the most DPS on the Acklay.
DXR6b 300-797 damage
T21 267-729 damage
(im speed capped, so thats not an issue)
The acklay is Med Armor, and 30% resist to Acid, 45% to Energy.... so by my reakoning, its going to be the DXR6b hands down, but i read some where that the Heavy AP on the T21 carries a bonus or something, im confuzzled
Can anyone shed any light on Heavy AP blah blah etc for me?
Cheers
Cron.

That may not always be 100% accurate becuase high level mobs do have mitigation/toughness.

Great find.
The T21 has a damage bonus in this case of 25%. However the energy resist is 50% higher than the acid resist. Which more than negates the T21 damage bonus.
You also have the much higher accuracy on the DXR-6b. So in this case it would be the better choice.
Any damage mitigation the MOB may have probably isn't much of a factor. Since the min/max on both weapons are fairly close (slight advantage DXR-6b) it would effect both about equally.
PS : If you want more info on AP vs AR click on the Rifleman FAQ v1.93 in my sig. It explains how it works and what it means.
