Tried this last night on Lok with Gurks, who go down pretty easy. Worked OK, but whenI get aggroed it can cause a problem. So, did you have your stats migrated? I had mine done to give me max mind, but my health went from it's default 1350 to about 850(I'm a wookie)so, my question is, if I'm going to try this unbuffed, unarmored endeavor, shouldI migrate my stats to give me more health/action back?

i was never buffed or armor...well every now and then bone armor but what does that do? so i actually had a lower health and action and kept mind up because of the mind cost of the t-21

I'm in a similar dilemma.

I'm a Wookiee and my HAM's are 1150/1000/800 (something like that), and I'm a master rifleman. I keep agonising over whether to migrate them or not. However, I do find that if I beef up my mind stats with brandy and (increasingly often) Ahrisa or musician buffs, that I'm good to go in most situations.

I can readilly buff my mind, but I don't think food-buffing your health or action is as easy (feel free to correct me here). Therefore, leaving your Health and Action naturally high is safer than sacrificing them for your mind. Even a master rifleman with ranger cammoflauge (like me) can take aggro, sometimes, and you need to be prepared for that.

My back up measures are: A) Be a novice medic and carry a large supply of stim-B's with you, and B) Have armour, and drag it all onto one of your tool bars, then you can take it on and off quickly with a few key presses.

Before I hit master rifleman, one dose of brandy could keep me /concealshoot'ing for quitea while, and I'd just have to stop every now and then to stim myself as I'd deplete my action pool in the end. However, now I'm master rifleman, and have the inherrent speed increase, I need to have a double brandy to keep my mind afloat, and I have to stim my H and A pools more often. I think if I migrated my stats to my mind, then I'd still need brandy and my other two pools would run out even faster.

As a wookiee here's another thingto bear in mind? Are you going to use armour? If you are, and you go for hunting armour, then there's a big factor introduced. Hunting armour is very heavy. When I got my suit, I couldn't wear the fullset because I didn't have enough consitution. My constition is 650 (not small!), and since I had my armour sliced (upgraded) I can wear the full set, but I'm only left with 6 consitution points. If I'd migrated my stats to beef up my mind, I still wouldn't be able to wear the full suit (chest, leggings and both bracers).

But don't do this after the nerf the buffs.

Except during PvP or high-content such as the Corvette, I never wear armor and use buffs lightly if any. Most of the time, allI take is some brandy to get my drain stat maxed.

This allows me to maintain high enough Health and Action pools.

Migrate your stats so you have mind, focus, and willpower as high as they will go. Then whenever you go out, dish out 10k to get buffs, and sit at the cantina for 10 mins and get mind buffs. Then take your brandy/ahrisia and put on your armor.

The only time I ever need armor/buffs is when I'm hunting with: A) an idiot, or B) a melee profession, but only in certain areas -- on Dathomir, they seem to agro every rancor within 1 kilometer... which doesn't work for me, lol. But unless it's a high level creature with astronomical ferocity levels like that, a good TKM is always awelcome tank.

95% of the time, though, clothes with pluses to camo/maskscent are more worth my time than armor and buffs. (And its sooo much more fun without buffs, IMO.) Its more than doable -- if you don't like armor and buffs, in my experience the ranger/rifleman and ch/rifleman are the least armor/buff-dependent templates in the game.

My stats are something like:
Health: 950
Action: 900
Mind: 970
Focus: 475
Willpower: 500

I'm a wookiee, and I play unbuffed.

Every now and then I go out and hunt a bit unbuffed. As a Human, my stats are as follows:

Health: 750

Strength: 400

Constitution: 400

Action: 750

Quickness: 400

Stamina: 400

Mind: 750

Focus: 850

Willpower: 700

When I go out and fight unbuffed, I usually wear a ubese jacket, ubese gloves and ubese boots. I've found that on most occassions, this is more than adequate and will keep me from taking too much damage, and with a laser rifle (MUCH less HA usage than a T-21), I'll roll around on Dant killing quenkers or huurtons using concealed shot or headshot3. Of course, I do have to drop a brandy and an ahrisa to keep my mind from getting boinked from specials.

One thing that is also VERY helpful in fighting unbuffed is to defense stack. Rifleman get a +40 melee defense, throw in the range/melee defense trees from TK or Fencer and you'll find yourself getting hit A LOT less.

Of course, you're a Wookie and I'm a human, so it's like comparing apples and oranges (hairy oranges at that).

I forget my exact stats, if you are interested let me know and I can log in tonight/tomorrow and look at them. I'm a zabrak.

health: ~950

subs: 450-500ish

action: ~950

subs: 450-500ish

mind: ~975

focus: 500, zabrak max I believe

willpower: 700?

I refused to max out the mind simply because that shorts my health and action, and whena critter smacks you, its more often to one of those pools. With 2 brandies, I have no mind problems at all, but my health and action pools get trashed by my T21, even if onlyusingautofire. I have considered lowering the health and action subs a bit to buff up the main pools, just not done it yet. If I do, it will be to lower the regen pools on those stats, and buff the main pools as well as the ham cost affecting stats -- strength and quickness I think they are.

Taking novice medic can help to mitigate the health/action hits cause you can just pop a stim-b to fix them up -- just make sure you do it before the situation is desperate, else you are likely to get incapped and/or dead before the stim goes off. I am leaning more towards the stat shift now though because I just recently dropped medic. Other things I want to do with my character, and I need those 15 points.

Hope this info helps you somewhat. I don't have a year under my belt, only been playing since late Feb/early March, but probably 85-90% of that time has been unbuffed/unarmored, and this setup has worked pretty well for me.

Just a follow on, the information above holds true from before I picked up CH as well. Adding CHhas helped some, but I'm using mostly level CL pets since I am trying to get max CH xp per kill, and I hold them back until I am being charged by my target. If I don't they will be incapped/dead before I kill my target.
