Thread: Rifleman/Pistoleer Bonuses stackable?

Posted this is the Pistoleer forum and thought I would ask here too.

I was looking through all the bonusses added by the different professions and I was wondering what everyone thought.

First: Do the different bonuses (Def vs Ranged/Melee/Stun) stack with each other?

If so:

Rifleman Master:
Ranged Def +17
Melee Def +20
Block +20
Def Stun/Blind/Dizzy +10
Def Posture Change (up) +30
Cover +80

Pistoleer Master:
Range Def +5
Melee Def +13
Def Stun/Blind/Dizzy +20
Def Posture (Down) +20
Def Knockdown +30
Dodge +30

Carbiner Partway:
Counter Attack +20
Def Knockdown/Intimidate +15

Total Bonuses (Plus Marksman Master):

Range Def +22 (39)
Melee Def +33 (35)
Def Stun/Blind/Dizzy +30
Def Posture (D) +20
Def Posture (U) +30
Def Knockdown +45
Def Intimidate +15
Dodge +30
Block +20
Counter Attack +20
Cover +80
Alertness +10
Gen Ranged Aim +22

Specifics:
Pistol Acc +45 (105)
Pistol Acc Moving +30 (Does it stack or replace?)
Pistol Acc Stand +15 (Stack or replace?)
Pistol Aim +16 (What does this affect? Basic accuracy? Special attacks?)
PistolSpeed +49 (79)
Rifle Acc +52 (112)
Rifle Acc Move +10 (Stack or replace?)
RifleSpeed +65 (95)
Rifle Aim +25

Yes, I got bored. Can anyone answer as to whether or not things stack like this? Also, the question about what exactly the 'Aim' bonus applies to? And as to whether the "While Standing/Moving" bonus is a stack or a replacement? I mean, if the standing and moving accuracy of the pistol added, that is a total of +150 if I am running vs. kneeling. Just does not seem right.

Ooh, and do attacks check against each defense? Like, does a shot first check against Cover, then Block, then Dodge, then Defense?

Is Counter-Attack a 'freebie' or does it take up a shot on the Qeue?

Sorry to add all of this, but I was just wondering if this was a viable option. Sure, it takes about all of my skillpoints, but Rifling something down and then running around/away from the sucker if it decides to charge.... sounds kind of cool to me. Also, all of the bonuses would be nice.

Thanks in advance.

As I understand all bonuses stack, just going master pistoleer, and master rifleman, are a bad idea. They do different damage, now gonig pistoleer in BH, and Master Rifleman, thats a good idea.

Oh please don't tell me what I think you're tell me??? Are riflemen useless as a stand alone class or do they absolutely require a supporting skill.

I’ve seen pistoleers easily handling anything thrown at them. So I know they can stand on their own. Are we doomed if we dedicate time to this profession as our sole means of combat skill??

Please be honest because i don't want to find out after i make master that it was a waste of xp when i could dump it into pistoleer.

I don't know if this really answers your question but, I went from Pistoleer to Rifleman and I love rifleman so much more. Before when I was using a pistol I had to kite the mobs or knock them down and had to be close so I could use the wep effectively and after fighting 2-3 whites at a time I seriously needed to rest.

As a rifleman it is completely different. I take out a pack of yellows (Desert Demons) outside of Entha from afarand Ibarely get hit or takedamage thanks to Take Cover. So of course I enjoy playing a rifleman sniping everything so much more. Especially since I like to solo more.

What I think Aldeon was trying to say is that a Pistol affects the Health as the Rifle affects the Mind so switching weps doesn't help you out. I think it would hurt you more.
