... continue to press the range issue and the way the to-hit caps work. I just got owned at 60m by a Pistoleer. I lagged for half a second and he spammed me with 3 knockdowns and it was over. What's happening is a skilled pistoleer is hitting the cap of -50 to hit, and then it's adding the to hit skills, instead of subtracting the -50 to hit due to posture and range from the modified total.

IE:
At 60m, and standing, a Pistoleer will have a base to hit of -50.. and THEN it's calculating the accuracy skills. It should be calculating accuracy, and then applying the posture and range penalty.

If, as Q stated, the weapons fit some kind of niche they should look like this generally:

Rifle: -80/+25/0 (Ideal 60m)
Pistol: +5/+25/-85 (Ideal 15m)
Carbine: -25/+25/-65 (Ideal 30m)

If you try and picture that in your dead, that gives you a spread of almost equal >0 distance for each type but at different ranges.

==================
Also, but unrelated: Knockdown should not work against a prone figure. Period.
