Thread: Question:- Best way to do Rifleman?

This was a profession I wanted to do for a while, but I got it as my 4th Holo today so I was quite happy about that.

I was just wondering if there was a best way to go about it?

Like which trees should I get first or what?

For example in TKA (I'm a TKM as well so this is gonna kick so much ass, hehe) you get x1xx first for unarmed knockdown, and then x14x to get all of the power techniques. Then 414x and so on and so forth until master.

So any tips for me?

I'd be happy of any advice since I'm an absolute beginner at this profession. Never really bothered with and elite ranged profession before now.

Just got to remaster that rifles tree of marksman since I had to drop master to do weaponsmith which was my third holo, lol.

Thanks for any advice guys

if your still a TKM then you have alot of melee defense probably, first I would go 0-1-0-X (this gets you conceal shot which is very important in early levellingthen I would go with 4-0-0-X simply because accuracy helps alot, go attack things that are melee and get a faster (recommended of less than 6.0 speed) rifle that does decent damage (max damage of 350+, unless its laser rifle in which case no lower than 400+ max damage.) though, if you want a DXR-6b go 0-0-2-X (acid damage works well against rancors and its med AP, as well as an extremely high wound percent which works well with PVP). Also, the X is most important, I would get as far up this tree as possible, because its speed and speed helps alot.

Thanks!

I should go a step or two up X tree straight away because I have a few hundred thousand combat exp left over from general fighting as a TKM.

I'll definately go for the conceal shot first and then the speed.

I have a good laser rifle at the moment, although it's 6.4 speed (I'll get a speed sliced one later) it does well over 500 max damage at 60m.

Luckily since I've done weaponsmith and still have master I can make a few T21s for myself so that's good

well I have to disagree, conceal shot first that's teh point, then counter sniping 2 to get the dxr6b cert. then sniping 2 to get decent accuracy, then finish counter sniping, get startle shot 2 and flushing shot 2 wich do each around 3k max damage in AREA attack wich means you can clear enraged rancors in no time and get almost 5k xp/rancor (I'm getting 4.8/4.9k xp)

once you get CS4, go for Sniping, then Conceal lines

Hmm, thanks for the advice. Maybe I'll do a combination and do a little of both and see which one I think helps me the most.

This is really good stuff, keep it coming.

And which moron one starred me? At least post if you one star and give a reason other than just being a troll.

If you have enough combat xp already for acouple of bars on rifle abilities then I would go.....

010X

013X

413X

414X

444X

Once you have Flushing 2 and a good disrupter from the counter sniping tree, get into rancor groups on Dath and just spam it contantly. The xp absolutely flies if you're in a good group. The accuracy is important but if you are hitting 3 rancors at the same time you can afford to miss a few! I have been doing that the last couple of nights and from 2-3 hours hunting I get 400-500k xp. Remember though that it needs to be a good group!

I'd say 0,1,3,x

Then 4,1,3,x

Then rest of countersniping and last concealment

I dunno if this is a good strat but from 0,1,3,x you could go to master in 3 sets of buffs (I went from 2,1,3,2 to master in 2 sets... last 1 million xp in 1 set, and that includes travelling to Tyrena from Dath to get training and then back again).

What you need though is someone to tank the creatures... I would suggest a TKM/MBrawler

Kamurith Snappers are good xp, they spawn in HUGE numbers, they are easy to kill and give about 4-5k... of course you can do rancors as well but that puts larger load on your tank and more decay on your weapon.

I was master commando for about 7 months prior so i had 300k combat xp left but this si what i did

XXX3

XX43

4X43

4144

4444

i trained in the blue leaf temple on yavin, so i was either kneeling or laying down the whole time. I didnt need the accuracy really so i concentrated on getting defences for those situations when it all goes horribly wrong and the target charges you

Thanks guys.

Got novice rifleman last night so I'll be testing out a few things today.

I'll definately try some of those hunting techniques.

Always got TKM as my backup in case things go horribly wrong.
