What effect does the cover mod have and is it usefull? What is it used for?
I'm asking as I have a BE and am selling + Cover clothes, how usefull would the clothes be?

Attacking mob's without being detected is all its good for. Only any use if the mob your attacking (usually on your own) is damn hard to kill if it charges you. A master rifleman will have no problem taking cover, and any cover mod tapes etc only increases the chance to take cover, nothing more, so are fairly useless.

COVER does not help with detection it helps against ranged attacks. Conceal avoids detection Cover reduces incoming accuracy / damage (not really helpful at the moment). Cover Mods on clothes do help even masters suceed more often into getting into the covered state.

so suprise shot aint a conceled attack performed from cover? o_O

Unfortunately Surprise shot does not even require cover to operate. It is our highest damage single target attack and is broken in that:
a) it does not require cover like it suggests and
b) is worthless once you get our higher damage multiple aoe attacks.
Cover does not affect concealment at all... cover is a damage reduction or damage avoidance skill... (never been able to tell to much )
