I have a question on the total strength of an attack. I know that head 2 does more damage than 1, and 3 more than 2. But does an area attack do more damage than the same attack for a single target, or vice versa.
For instance, if I dont want to use Strafe 2 in PVP, should I use flurry 2 or (i forget the name) the one that stuns, rather than the level 1 of those attacks, or should I in fact use the level 1?
Basically, I have a limited number of slots in my toolbar. Do I need the 1 and 2 of each attack, because the level 1 attack does more damage to a single target than the area version on a single target?

The AOEs all have higher damage multipliers than the single target versions of the same attack. I don't pvp,but I would guess that if you were looking ro maximum damage toyour target, and did not want to use strafe2, then flushing2/flurry2 would be good choices. Tactically, I would use both -- flurry2 to dizzy them andkeep them from burst runningto/from you, and flushing2 to stun them. Then I'd work them over from there.
Not sure if you have all 6 tools bars filled, but what I do is to use toolbar 1 for the AOE attacks, and toolbar for the single target versions. Then I switch to the appropriate toolbar depending on what I want to do.
So for example, my toolbar 1 looks like:
HeadShot2 Flurry2 Flushing2 Strafe2 | MindShot2 SurpriseShotConcealShot Phecnacine Darts | Brandy Ahrisa SynthSteak Mount/Maskscent
T21 DXR Laser -- bunch of pet commands and other useful things --
toolbar 2
HeadShot2 Flurry1 Flushing1 Strafe1 | MindShot2 SurpriseShotConcealShot Phecnacine Darts | Brandy Ahrisa SynthSteak Mount/Maskscent
T21 DXR Laser -- bunch of pet commands and other useful things --
I can have everything I need, and some stuff I don't right there. I use toolbar 1 when I don't care about spraying the area with blaster fire, and bar 2 when I want more control or when AOEs are a bad idea -- pet searching, corvette, dwb, tightly packed, non-mission mobs around a mission point, etc
Hope this helps at least somewhat. The setup noted works well for me, but your mileage may vary.

This was a really good answer.... I never used dizzy to prevent burst run........ excellent stuff. Thanks.

If you read the FAQ that is pasted at the top of the page you will find a complete listing of all effects, damage multipliers and such for every attack rifleman have.

On thing I would really want is a single target high damage, random pool attack for use when you want to hit health and when youdon't want to use area attack

i believe flurry 1 has a higher damage multiplier then flurry 2 ( 1 is single target and 2 is cone attack ) . for a master rifleman with only +90 speed , using a t-21 (damage sliced ) , flurry 1 is the highest damage per second single target shot , even though surprise shot has a higher damage multiplier .
