I am new to this board so my apologies if this idea has already been hashed over. Anyway, here's my idea to make riflemen "true snipers". I know the devs have stated that they can't extend the combat range because of limitations to the combat/graphics/whatever engine. So here's away to makeconcealshot useful in pvp. Basically, once a rifleman is prone and selects conceal shot, he would disappear from the target's radar. And, when damage is registered, it would not tell the target who hit them for the damage, but simply say, "A sniper hits you for 435 points of damage" or whatever. So, then they would be forced to look around for a riflemen in the prone position. Then, if the sniper has hidden him/herself carefully behind a bush or what have you, they would be that much harder to spot.

You're right, it is a great idea to make riflemen more into snipers, but it has been brought up many times unfortunately. We've been told that dropping from the radar is not an option as 3rd party radar hacks are too simple to acquire, which would give those using them too much of an advantage. Not that I wouldn't like seeing it though...

I like the idea, but as far as placing your character behind a bush, that might not always hide your character from view. Bushes and the like are considered "Non-collidable flora" in the graphics menu, and they can easily be turned off, thus removing any hiding spots for the sniper.

3rd party radar hacks? is that serious? sheesh there is a lot i dont know about programing lol
you dont really need hiding places. becasue one would use the tab button to search for your target. you get the msg"you have been hit by so and so etc" you just tab till you hit his name, and return fire. hiding wont help anyway.
so in a slight variation of this idea, all we need is that the name not show up, no? leave us on the radar, fine, but say "you have been hit for 57 points". no name . if he tabs, he WILL reach the RM who shot him, but he will not know it was him, and will not know he is the RM. Unless this can be hacked too...
