at the moment i have no proffessions at all and don't know which one i should do so should i do rifleman again?
o yeah.... hi waste haven't seen you on much where you been?

On Eclipse I am Master Rifleman and Master Smuggler (two professions I love dearly, but which don't really go together). So when I went to start a new char on TEST CENTER I decided I really liked the power of Rifleman, but I didn't need to be a smuggler there. SO I decided to get some "up close" melee skills to go with the long distance offense of rifle.
Because a couple of my friends on Eclipse are Swordsman, I thought I would try it on TC with Rifleman, and I must say they really go together well!! I am really enjoying building my character on TC. (I have finished the Marksman Rifles and Brawler Two-handed trees and am working on both Novices: rifle/swords.)
I start off with my rifle at long distance, prone, and use only HeadShots (currently up to HeadShot2). Once the MOB aggroes me, I have a macro to stand up, clear the combat queue, and switch to my best two-handed weapon. By the time he gets to me I am whacking him with 2h Mind Hits to finish him off. This works really well!
Keep in mind tho, that on TC I started total newb: no armor, no bike, no money. It is a fairly deserted place (which is kinda nice, actually) so not a lot of help from others. I still can't afford (or find) even cheap armor, but I do have a bike. No doctors to buff me, and I only have 10K to my name. If you are doing this on a mainstream server, then you probably have money, and armor, and can possibly affort doc buffs. This will make it MUCH easier.
Anyway... just a suggestion. TKA may work just as well, just never tried it.

I was rifleman for a partial time of being swordsman for over 3 months, the combo is VERY nice as I nailed Black Suns in seconds with mindshot/headshot mindhit/headhit combos, you may be able to take on Jedis as well as swordsman is one of the few melee professions that can actually get through force armor 2 (AR2). However I'm giving it a shot to do rifleman/fencer with some pistoleer defenses on my new toon and so far it's looking fun and interesting for PVP.

I was capped on combat xp and mastered rifles (finished last night) again in about 3 or 4 buffs. My last buff I got 1.5mil xp on dant killing stuff non-stop. I'd say go for it, (was swordsman for a few months, would have kept it, but with Weaponsmith it doesn't fit).
