Okay fellow riflemen, I am seeking some advice on the rifleman tree. I only have about 16-21 points to invest in this tree. Currently I am overinvested and am considering giving up rifleman altogether, but want to try it in the best configuration for what I have available. Currently I am 2,1,0,1. What should I change or drop and why? Keep in mind the number of points that I have to invest in your advice. The best climb to master rifleman will not help me at all.

Devs clearly do not play their creations and are utter clueless as to the results of their nerfs. They seem to be in love with their ideas and ignore the results.

I heard they were thinking of fixing concealed shot? If that is true, perhaps holding 5 points would be useful...

I'm all for speed and accuracymyself, perhaps 3133 but that was more points then you wanted to spend. Myself I was considering 4004 but might just do 3103 if they indeed DO fix concealed. To be honest there is much up in the air and the only real power atm is in master. (I can't do that till the warping is fixed, however)

I would also say 1,0,3,0 - thats 17 skill pts. though.

You could easily need the mind bleed in PvP and on tough mobs and you don't need to go Sniping 2 just because of HS3.

FlushingShot2 is a must for any novice.. You'll experience a whole new power to the novice level when getting this. Definetly worth getting if you wanna do any good. Conceal is only good at non BAF mobs pt. and gives lousy damage. Takes forever to kill anything with it.

I can hit pretty hard with flushing2 and laser rifle.

Two options in my opinion:

1/0/3/0
This will give you mind bleed 2 (so you can have two stacking mind bleeds) and Flush shot 2 (area attack that is our highest damage outside strafe 2). These two give you some good pve abilities and some good (for a rifleman) pvp abilities. Also, box 3 in counter sniping gives you some good defensive bonus verse affects (10 blind, 10 dizzy, 10 stun, 10 posture down, and gives 5 block).

The other option is 0/0/3/0. This is more a pvp build. YOu still have mind shot 1 from marksman tree for mind bleeds in pvp and get flush 2. I would do this route if you ware worried about points.

Last thing to ask is what are your other skills? If we knew them, we could help ya a bit more.

Grrowl,

My other skills are Ranger (close to master and will be master), CH 1,1,0,0 and Novice Medic.I appreciate all the help and input I am receiving.

A few more questions for everyone. This all started when a master ranger/rifleman and myself (ranger/rifleman) went hunting the other day on Talus. We could not draw tortur missions there, but I know novice BH that can and do constantly. With ranger being the "prime" hunter and rifleman should be the best weapon for such (even tho I have to get closer for traps) I am disturbed about this (not getting the better hunting missions).

Question/comment: I don't use conceal shot (I do have it at the moment) because of the cover bug (the one the does not allow you to run anymore after you take cover unless you relog). Is this supposed to get fixed too?

Question/comment: Explain how the skill mods work as far as rifle speed. What is the max speed (I have heard 3 seconds and I have heard 2 seconds). What is +10 on the tree? Is it +10 percent or does that represent one second? (If there is a guide for such info that can be easily found I will be happy to look for myself if someone can point me to the right direction. Any information on here seems to get lost in the endless clutter that people like me contribute to).

My first priority was 1000 for mindshot2. This baby is great versus npcs as well as in PVP.

I'm now climbing up to 1030 to get flushingshot2. This special gives you a great damage multiplier with an area effect. Stuns and startles too. I think you can reach this with the points you have, and have 2 left over. I haven't gotten it yet, but it seems to be the rifleman's workhorse shot... I really think you should get it.

In case you find more points, next would be to climb up to 1034 to bring up your speed and accuracy.

Nothing in the concealment tree sounds useful to me.

Hope this helps,
Ygu
