I posted this in the Scout forum originally, since that is what I primarily am; however, they thought it might be prudent to repost it here, probably should have to begin with. I've read some of the complaints about the patch in this forum and noticed this problem was sort of mentioned. Original post follows:

"You can tell me if I'm crazy or not. I know that creature hit damage was supposed to be increased. And I know that our hit damage was supposed to be decreased, sort of. But I noticed tonight that when, using my laser rifle, I attacked kaadu from a prone position that I was doing less damage than when I attacked from a kneeling position. I didn't really test it out, but this didn't seem to be a problem with my other weapons. And what was really wierd was my non-special attacks where often doing more damage thanmy special attacks. For instance, most of the time when attacking from prone and using headshot2 I would get 200-270 damage on my target. But the non-special attack from prone would get 600+. Seems kind of strange to me. I seem to remember it being the other way around before the patch. Anybody else notice this?"

As an add on here, when kneeling the special attacks were doing more damage than the normal attacks.

This has already been well documented, here and here. It's a bug with armor, not with rifles specifically.

Supposedly being fixed in today's hotfix patch.

Yes, I've seen similar posts on the armor bug, but how does that effect firing position. Previously, at least for me, I always had higher damage when shooting from prone than from kneeling. Now that seems reversed. I'm sure there is some complicated algorithm to determine all of this, I just don't know what it is. I suppose it is possible that the armor bug only effects firing from prone. /shrug
