For everyone that is complaining about not getting to master rifleman because of warping mobs should certainly read this post. For all of you having trouble killing in PvP, PvE or no E or P read this post!!

To start it off everyone needs to know that the rifleman class is not for the faint of heart, or the impatient persona. This class has the hardest time leveling up due to the fact that 2.5 X melee damage kills us in one hit and the warping mobs are a major factor in our death struggle. Even with our crap weapons there are some Master Riflemen out there and I am one of them, now I am willingly throwing some wisdom down here for everyone to read, any other Riflemen out there, with more info to help each other out post here!!

All right here goes!!

1. As a rifleman you need to go prepared before a hunting expedition!! Such items you want to take when hunting is Mind Food, Mind Spices or anything that can help your mind to decimate everything in your path. It also helps to get buffed in your other HAM bars but it is not necessary. Try to also have a couple of different rifles, like a T21 for bleed or a Laser Rifle, whatever you do always try to have a high damage weapon on you at all times.

2.We have the slowest weapons in the game so we have to use our head to win in a confrontation. One thing that worked for me really well was to bleed the target both with MS1 and 2 then run back, it gets to about 40m I spam warning shot until it runs away then clear it then shoot my regular shots, I let bleed do most of the killing.

3. I'll get back on you on this one, getting out of work right now, i'll add more when I get home

3. Alright back, some important skills for rifleman come in the abilities of the scouts. The first and third level exploratioln give you the ability to move up and down slopes making your running away a lot easier. Its better to have until you become master, after that you wont be using it as much.

4. Pets!! Pets are a good addition but not necessary to win a battle. Its better to just single pull a mob away from the lair.

- Tips on single pulling monsters from lairs:

Target a mob farthest from its friends. Be at least 85 meters from this mob and then hit the attack button so you are in attack mode. This way anything around the mob will aggro on you, and chances are only one will aggro on you. Slowly move back and target the mob that is attacking you/aggro. Run away from the other mobs and then BAM you got yourself one mob by itself to kill.

5. PvP..... Again your chance of survival is a lot higher if you eat mind food. Get buffs and you are ready to go.

A good rifleman will always have a composite helm on him in case he meets a bounty hunter, anything else after that is basically overkill. Again a good assortment of weapons are a plus, a Jawa Ion Cannon is great for those wearing composite and your T21 or Laser will own if they are unarmored.

6. You have the ability to take out targets from afar, only use headshot if there mind is low or you have a massive amount of mind and can regen it fast. Flushing shot is good since it lowers the defensive abilities of a character if stunned, making your targets easier to hit. After you can either go to the choice of bleeding or try to quick kill. Headshot 3 will almost own for the quick kill or strafe shot 2, which does a good deal of damage and sometimes have a one shot kill. Sniper Shot is the most perfect abilitity with the ability to deathblow anyone from 65 meters.

If anyone wants to add more, keep adding, this is how I do it and I have been quite succesfull even with our 2.5 melee modifier, bad accuracy, useless weapons, and the inability that our moves are bugged.

So good luck to all riflemans and I hope all of you find something you can use in some of my tips!!

Thanks for the tips.

I have been a crafter and am new to combat. My question regards the Composite helm you mentioned.

Does a helmet protect from Mind damage specifically or from Eye Shot? You mentioned 'in case of BH' so I wondered.

Thanks again!

Great tip on how to pull the single mob, never thought of the false attack to get the other one to charge.

Other useful things I have found are having kneel and stand on my toolbar.

I go after mobs almost 95%, so kneeling is plenty good.

My method is:

kneel and mindshot to start the DoT and befuddle the mob

Follow up with headshot

Then when they charge close I hit the Stand and switch to my spraystick.

I am also CH, so I have a pet on Guard, which is great. When the mob charges, my pet counter charges and engages right around 20m away. If the pet fails to engage, I hit my stand and switch to spraystick. (If I had a brain, I would use Warning Shot to get them off me, but I dont have that deeply encoded yet so I get chewed up)

Add ranged weapon power ups to the list of gear you MUST have as a rifleman. My bleed-duty laser rifle gets +168 max damage with the power ups I make. I sell some Max Dam 33.16%/Mind Cost 16.33% power ups which are the bomb on Laser Rifles and T21s.

I found using spray stick for warning shot is a bad idea, reason is:

if you use a slow gun u get time to peace after landing the shot and it will not aggro again (well not for awhile, it just runs off). If you use a spray stick you fire too fast and aggro the mob again as soon as you warning shot it.

The problem with the spraystick firing too fast and not being able to peace quickly enough can simply be resolved by making a macro to peace for you, after you fire a warning shot. It simply goes like this:

/warningshot

/pause 1 (one second)

/peace

And there you have it. By the way, the pause is necessary, as peace will override any other command you have in the macro without the pause in there. I'm not so sure about other rifleman, but the spraystick saved me many times over as a low-level rifleman, especially when I had creatures aggro me that conned red.
