Thread: Startle Shot1 vs Flushing Shot1
per the styles sticky, these two attacks do the same damage on the same time mod, and flushing has a chance to stun to boot. so, why would startle1 be higher in the tree (250k xp to get an inferior attack).
can someone please confirm that startle1 and flushing1 are both 2x damage, 2.1x time?
as for rifle dizzy it lasts about .5 seconds short of being able to apply a suppressionfire1 to the target so basically until the big patch both attacks are pretty much a waste of mind points since strafe1 and headshot2 are better than both as is conceal shot. once the patch goes live and we can test re-ask the question
I think you missed his question, Barb-Wire. He is comparing Startleshot (raises posture) with Flushingshot (raises posture and stuns). Flurryshot is the one that causes Dizzy. So his question is why, if they cause the same amount of damage, would one use Startleshot shot over Flushingshot since it would appear that Flushingshot is basically Startleshot + Stun.
I would like to know the answer to that question as well. The only thing I could suggest is that, since these secondary effects are a "chance" to cause it to happen and since Startleshot is higher in the tree than Flushingshot, that should mean that Startleshot is more likely to cause a raise in posture than is Flushingshot. Also, when you get higher up in the tree, you get Startleshot2 and Flushingshot2. But there, I believe the differences are that Startleshot2 is just higher damage where as Flushingshot2 is area effect.
Can anyone elaborate?
exactly, sotaudi...
i'm asking why a skill that cost 250k more xp does the same damage, has the same speed, and does not cause as many status effects as the skill underneath it.
i'm hoping that startle1 is actually better than listed, and asking someone to verify.
