So I took a break from my Master CH/Master Riflemen to go on Lowca and play a TKA/Ranger combo.

All I can see is, We got screwed hardcore. I'm a 0/1/2/1 TKA on Lowca, and I hit for 2x more dmg than I do with my T21 sliced for dmg/Me as a master.

I've been noticing a lot of different problems, On Scylla, I can't beat a commando/BH, they own me quick.

On Lowca, I've taken down Master BH's, MAster Commando's like it's no buddies business.

I booted up my Riflemen last night to play, and after 3 hours, I was depressed by how little dmg we do. Sure, I unleash a 3K shot every 1.5-2 seconds (but I can only do 6 before I'm out of mind) where as my TKA, I can do a 1.2K dmg punch, 13 times in a row (before I even think about using a stim).

Saldy, I didn't believe when I was climbing the Riflemen tree (cause I would always solo, or go out with doctors/low end riflemen) now that I see the other side. We truly did get screwed hardcore.

migrate more stats to mind. minimum, 1000, 700,600

if you want to be better pvp, take up master marksman as well (or find a +5 rifle speed skill tape),

or perhaps go TKA novice/master, so you can powerboost and have close range skills.

use the right weapon for the job (jawa against composite) - put dmg powersups/mind powerups on guns.

use muon gold if you expect constant PVP fighting.

wear a helmet, if nothing else - against a BH. possibly creating a macro for /removehelmet;/strafeshot2;/armhelmet (obviously it doesn't really look like that, but just for simplicity sake).

i also highly recommend sliced marauder armor for lightweight protection.

/ex your targets pvp, while they're still far away, and inspect what they have equipped so you know what to use and what to expect them to use.

/strafeshot2; /strafeshot2; /strafeshot2; /snipershot

1 problem, Wookie's get no armor.

My stats are 1080, 900, 1100 (primary HAM, since I don't regen, I either win, or die) And I do use the appropriate gun against the right targets.

Don't know enough about the TKA tree....do they get any sort of aoe attacks farther up the line?

Hitting 6 mob's for an avg of 3k or more per hit every second is a rather nice benefit to the rifleman class at master. Musician buffs make life much, much easier (would assume melee would be looking for doc buffs whenever possible so not much difference). When buffs aren't available, food still works as long as you only eat one and wait for it to wear off before using another. Not as good as the musician buffs naturally, but any increase to focus or willpower is certainly a plus (will be nice when they get the bugs removed)

I haven't touched my T21 since I hit master for the most part. It's all laser or jawa in most situations. I can get a boatload of strafe2's off without running out of mind with buffs or food.....and with the musician buffs at least, it regenerates very quickly.

I don't pvp personally, but I've heard a number of masters say that they're absolute terrors in that realm.

Honestly, I don't think we got screwed....I think every class needs to have a similar mix ofstrengths and weaknesses.

Just my thoughts.....

TKA does, Power 3, I can AoE for 2-3k per enemie. Same as Riflemen.

I'm just concerned, because TKA are getting a bunch of stats buffs, due to them being so 'weak'

I've also noticed I dodge WAY more as a TKA under gun fire.

Maybe i'm just bitter everyone gets cool armor but wookie's heheh

No, we did get skrewed. I've been through many professions and they all except perhaps the Carbineer and Pikeman just run away head and shoulders above us. I have tried various combos, stat changes, armour and buffs but it just does not seem to help and I don't have to do these tricks to get the mob with pistol, sword or pet.

Speed is a BIG advantage that is not properly considered in the balance issues, hands down. I'm not yet master and have real high hopes for it, but if the 3-second thing gets in first, by-by rifle.

Any consideration for me must fit around Master Ranger, which eats 140 SP. I use H. Sword toget by in the mean time. I did try CH for a while but as I got up the Rifleman tree I was at a "skill points crossroads" and the bang for the buck of dabbling in CH rather then getting something like 3/3/0/0 ormore was not working well. I actually did better with H. Sword (read: killed faster) so I went for that instead. My finishing will be MRM/MR and HOPE strafeshot2 will be my savior. If I keep the support tree in marksman that leaves 4 points, which I will probably be used for frist box pistol/carbine (I bought those back to get the CH boxes before, so I don't even need to get the exp.) SO the goal is:

Master Ranger (RP reasons)
Master Rifleman (Personal combat prof choice, seemed more "ranger like" then MP)
Marksman 4/1/1/4

- that totals 250 points. The hope is this will make me a good enough hunter for the docs and BE's. In the mean time I offset the melee disadvantage with 2-handed sword, which will have to be bought back eventually.

thats tough, man..

Master ranger is cool, for sure. but i don't think it will make you the best hunter you could be (I do understand your RP reasons though, and applaud you).

if your goal is to be a PvE hunter to provide Docs and BE's with resources, i'd say you would be betterwith some skill in CH. even 1-1-0-0 (or whatever will allow you to control a GSP after the new changes) would be ideal.

if you went marksman 4004, master rifle, ranger 4240, and CH 2200 you could have a very good pet (at least a gsp, possibly a graul, depending on changes to the class) and harvest exponentially more resources than if you were ranger/rifle with no CH. I'm sorry to say, you just can't beat a CH's tanking abilities

if you toned down your ranger skills a little more, maybe just keep tracking 4, you could put some skillpoints into novice medic and use good Stim b's to heal yourself (and your pet, if if you wish - though Pet stim c's or D's are much nicer for that).

but if your heart is set on Master Ranger, (which is cool) yeah, you're limited in options.

just throwin those ideas out there, you've probably already thought about them all though, heh.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I have thought of those. I may yet do that, but I'd like to see what I can do as MRM first. I'd also like to see how the nerfage goes after I get there. My alternate plan is to dabble CH enough to have Mualer or 2 Grand Wrix (those puppies are fast and armoured) and ether hold on to speed and accruacy (rifle 4.0.0.4) or go pistol if the 3 second nerf happens. All depends on the upcomming patches...

Don't we run away head and shoulders above them when we get to master (even with our limitations)? Would rather be better at the end then the beginning (easy to say since I'm a master now, eh? =P )

Speed changes I don't really have anything to say about until we get all the details. Need to know what kind of damage adjustment would go along with it before making any judgements.

try a sheild generator in PVP - at least it's something.

wookies got screwed for armor

also> your Focus stat is very important, as it decides how much your mind drains when you fire specials. i would suggest at least 700. 1000 is better
