I only have a few skill points remaining. I've been on novice rifleman for a long time and only have conceal shot. (I would love to master rifleman, but I'm a melee fighter at heart). I want to keep the conceal shot effect of no auto-attack. I only have enough for 3 skill boxes in the same branch. It's a toss up between surprise shot and sneak. I was going for surprise shot automaticallyuntil I saw the new TC ranged defense bonuses. The real question for you guys is, do you really think surprise shot is worth the SP or is conceal just fine. A little help would be hot.

You need to go up the counter-snyping tree to get flushing shot 2. It's the 3rd one up and you finally see the potential of the profession.

If this makes a difference to you. Surprise Shot has to be used with Take Cover. Other than that it does a bit more damage than Conceal but otherwise is the same thing.

Also at the moment takecover has been known to do some strange things. In other words it may have a few bugs. From what I have heard though our dev knows about it and says its on to do list.

If you just plan on using rifles for Conceal Shot, I'd suggest levelling up the accuracy or speed branches. Conceal Shots are dog slow, so speed may help. On the other hand, the higher your accuracy, the less chance there is that you'll miss.

I'd go accuracy. miss twice and you're agroed. gotta keep the misses down.

I don't know if you pvp but if I were going to only multiclass into one branch of rifleman it would definately be sniping accuracy. nomatter your profession, a macro that switches to spraystick, snipershots, switches back to regular weapon is awesome. plus that branch gives you all the shots that hit mind, so you'd be able to stack mind bleeds and do nasty mind whacking. for pvp I think that's definately the branch to go with. sounds like you're more into PvE though if you're worried about concealshot.

just a note> surprise shot works just fine without cover. i use it all the time to do 3x dmg (whatever the modifier is) to one target random ham. it's good whenyou're in a situation where it would beunwise to use an AE attack.
the skillbox says it's supposed to be use from cover, but this isn't the case.
that said: stay with just conceal shot in that line, go up to countersnipe3 as the others said.
