I am a master rifleman and confess I have never owned or used a jawa ion rifle. To me, the stats look awful and the gun just looks goofy as heck.

But lately I have been getting more into PvP and went looking at all the composite armor for sale on my server. Nearly all of it, if not all of it, affords no protection at all against stun.

And a Jawa Ion Rifle does stun damage.

Which raises the issue, here is some guy wearing the best composite armor money can buy, and would the jawa ion rifle just bypass all that and do full damage?

I wonder if you got it sliced just right and put a top notch powerup on it, if just maybe it could be useful in PvP?

What do you guys think?

Personally I have never fired one either but from what I have read on these forums they are pretty good against composite. I have seen some stats that are pretty close to a speed sliced laser with a powerup on it. So I know some people are making super high powered jawa rifles just for this.

Yes the Jawa Ion Rifle is the shizzy against people in composite. Buy a few get a good damage slice. I've got one that is 180-313 then I add a power up and its around 400 for max damage. Not too bad expecially when you get 1.25 the damage because they have 0 resistance to it. Oh and after the fight you've jsut eaten up a nice sice chunk of their armor's condition.

Equation for a commando killer: Jawa Ion Rifle with Krayt tissues + Stock + Damage Slice + Power up= some where in the 180-500 or 600 damage range.

I think you can layer composite with stun protection, but I've never seen any.

On all the composite that I've come up against the Jawa worked a treat. Went right through the composite doing full damage.

you can get composite layered for stun. but most don't as they don't know about the jawa, or don't want to deal with the ham costs involved with the xtra layer.

get one, dmg slice, and powerup. far better than T21 on composite!very reasonable ham cost on the jawa, too, especially with a dmg/mind powerup!

How many things of krayt does it take? I don't have any and can't afford them of course but if I do get some I'd rather boost myself then sell it to a pistoleer so they can kill me faster.

YOu can add layers to composite for stun but no one wears this unless they are buffed or they get a hella nice Encouberence slice, but all being said and done 95% of people with have 0-20% stun protection.

And it takes 5 tissues to make a krayt jawa ion rifle Well worht the 5 in my eyes with all the people running aroudn in comp. armor its a good investmen, and being as 1/4 to 1/3 of servers still dont have the t-21 its a good all purpose gun. And even with the stock the ham is around 70 to the mind, jsut 10 more than your Laser Rifles.

I need 5 power handlers. Since they have to come from a factory, you likely have to provide 6 of them (cause you need one for the schematic). 7 in case of a crit failure on the schematic or a bad roll on the experimentation. 7 Kryats for one gun vs 7 uber-FWG5s. Remember that even if you use up 5 Krayts in the gun, you don't get the benefit 5 times, only once. No WS will make you that gun unless you provide the material and insist on it.

I own a Jawa Ion Rifle, 175-310 (It got a 32% dmg slice). I use it all of the time, both for PvE, and PvP. Jawa Ion is one of, if not most, underestimated gun in the game.

Stun guns are great. Period.

Forgot to add, it does anywhere from 300-780 w/ Strafe Shot 2 to Comp armor people in pvp.
