Because they are much more intelligent then me or any other Player-Character... LOL

The animals aren't paying $15 a month to play this beta. They obviously have bigger minds than us.

Ok. But why do the creatures have such even HAM's then? They usually don't differentiate by more than about 10% it seems.
I'd rather see a new system that actually made sense. Cat creatures have larger action pools, elephants types larger health pools. Keep the totals amount of HAM as now. Just change the percentages. Say 45-50% of its main attributemaybe 30% in oneother and the rest in the last stat. Or something as long as all the bars weren't practicly the same.
Would definately make it more interesting for hunting and would mean different professions would be more efficient at hunting certain kinds of creatures.
