Rifleman Archive
Thread: A big thumbs up
i am shocked at how well this profession is working for me in conjunction with Master Creature Handler. I am still a total noob to Rifleman 2/0/0/2 but dispite that fact i am having more success than i did when i was using Commando and a flamethrower!
the burns were taking a LONG time to kill the FC NPCs i am hunting (nearly full time now) , the time between flame shots (even at Grenadeer) was WAAYY too long, and i had to heal my Graul Maulers after almost every fight.
as a Rifleman, a nice Headshot3 - Mindshot2 combo spammed puts the poor saps down LONG before my Grauls really even have to do much damage at all.
i am playing a Zabrak on this account and have shifted as many points into Mind, Focus and Willpower as i can. I dont know if you have ever seen a Mindpool fill with a 900 Willpower, but it is quite a site to behold!
i just wanted to say thank you to those of you who post here, as it was your inspiring information that convinced me to make the switch. I know it is a long hall, but i am going to master the profession ![]()
Thanks again
Cool! Glad you enjoy it. And it is a "long haul". The "long hall" is the one with the bathroom at the end when you have to go, but you're in the middle of a bunch of angry MOBs! ![]()
Wish I had a Graul, and I agree, with a Graul to make the aggro stick like glue this is all much fun, especially when you get hte AoE's.
I have to use silly tricks like bleed and warning shot and running like a girly man when it all goes to *heck*. I need more skill points, I really do...
However, I suggest you spend some time reading through this forum, as you will find some more good tips in here.
Some things that come to my mind (but you may already know them, I'm just basing on your post):
- Mindshot 1 and Mindshot 2 stack. So if you are using mind bleed, use both. Mindshot 1 does not do as high a bleed as 2 does, but it adds on top of that resulting in a miuch higher bleed over time
- Headshot 3 is considered pretty inefficient in terms of damage/mind cost. I would suggest using it only when you are buffed or using a very low HAM rifle. In other situations, you might find that Headshot 2 allows you to do more damage before your mind runs out. It may take a bit longer, but allows you to do more damage before you need to rest
- If you have a sturdy pet to tank, I would usggest getting an AE as soon as possible (either 3rd box in the third or forth tree). While an AE attack does random pool damage, it will hit mutiple targets with one shot. So you can let your pet attack, wait till the 6 MOBs are all beating on your pet, and then shoot away. With some experience in positioning, you will be able to hit 6 MOBs with one single shot. So even though you are doing random pool damage, this will increase both your xp/time as the damage/HAM cost dramatically
Just some tips that come to mind right now. Browse through this forum for more good tips and strategies! And welcome
Wouldn't spamming mindshot2 just keep resetting/restarting the bleed amount and timer instead of letting the bleed do its thing? As a pistoleer, I like to stack healthshot1 & healthshot 2 but once they are applied properly I am done with them for that target. Perhaps I just misread you on that point.
