Thread: this might be a stupid question but how do i repair my gun?
Buy a weapon repair kit.
Some claim that the better the kit the more chance you will have on repairing it. (Although Im not sure if thats the case. I bought any old one...didnt even check, and it repaired my rifle from 220/1000 to 950/950.)
Also dont attempt a repair if you are not completely willing to lose your weapon. Sometimes your repair will fail and make your weapon worthless.
Finally, its been known that you should never repair a weapon unless you need it. You will get messages that your weapon is at 75%, 50%, and 25%. It doesnt really have any effect until 25%. After that it starts to deal less damage. So wait till under 25% to repair it. Many people have tried at higher %, and lost thier weapons.
Thanks, A-Pac for that info. I just bought a weapon repair kit and used it, unknowingly, at about 50%.
Fortunately I repaired my weapon but only to 900/900.So a couple of questions:
1) Will the weapon (assuming its not destroyed)ALWAYS dropin value? Andis there an "average" drop value that seems to occur? i.e., is 100 points normal or excessive?
2) Does the repair ever change the characteristics of the weapon? Damage, speed, etc?
3) Is it generally a good idea to pick up crappy weapons on the bazaar for dirt cheap (e.g.,Scout Blaster 150cr) try to fix them and resell them? Seems like a good idea...
Thanks... any info appreciated.

- stats: repairing a weapon never changes the stats. The only point where the weapon condition influences the stats is when you reach 1 (or 0?) points of condition. At this point, your weapon will have a min/max damage of 1. It's technically destroyed, but the item is still there
- repair tools: From my experience, a higher quality tool (i.e. a high functionality rating) has a better chance of repairing an items. Don't use a 50% tool. The few credits a top-end tools costs are well worth it
- do NOT repair you weapons yourself unless you have to. Weaponsmiths get a bonus on repairing weapons. I have a Master Weaponsmith, and the low number of weapons that I have destroyed in the process compared to the high number of weapons my guildmates destroy when trying to repair is proof enough for me. There is no scientific proof, but my recommendation is to go to a Master WS, bring a 97%+ tool with you, and pay some creds to have it repaired. It will be cheaper in the long run than buying new rifles all the time
