Thread: Rifles Unslicing themselves?

Do rifles degenerate drastically over time, (about 100 hitpoints would seemingly equal 10% of it's damage) or did my 400k krayt rifle just unslice itself? I bought it at 40-440 dmg, aquired a dmg slice of 22% to about 49-527 . I look at it the other day, and it's at something like 38-419 dmg, total condition was 762/762, but it was orignally 998/998. Do they degenerate THAT much or does the game love me?

Rifles loose condition, but that does not influence your damage until you get to 1 point condition.

The only way to loose max condition it to repair it. Unless you used a repair tool on it or gave it to someone else who did, there is no way your rifle will loose max condition.

There is a bug where removing powerups will actually permamently decrease the stats of a weapon. This could be what happened if you manually removed a powerup at some point, but still it would not influence the condition.

The possible explanation that you had a powerup before which increased damage and is no used up I rule out, since you say you knew that damage right after a slice, and slicing removes the powerup anyway.

From the data you give us, the ONLY two explanation that I can think of are:

- someone has repaired the weapon (thus causing the lower max condition) AND someone removed a powerup manually (hitting the bug that reduces stats). At least the repair thing you should probably know about if you did it yourself, otherwise you must have traded the rifle to someone or someone had access to the house you left it in

- someone has replaced your rifle with a different item

I think the later version is more likely. Did you leave it in a house or on your character? Does anyone else use your account?

The other thing to keep in mind is that some stupid CSRs on a powertrip have been reported to delete T21s because "they thought they were too good to be legit". Given the average knowledge of the game and competency of those CSRs that I have worked with so far, I would not be suprised if one of them had decided that you did too much damage to him in PvP or stole his Kryat kill, and decided to steal your weapon. Or decided that you have duped the weapon. Of course this can never be proven.

Anyway, you should log a ticket. But either way, no matter what really happened, I would bet money that you will never get anything back. Just start running missions to buy a new one.

Good luck!

Thanks, I removed a power-up a week or so ago, didn't know about the bug. That's awesome though, who needed a decent rifle anyway?
