Rifleman Archive

One of my alts is going MCM with a little scout ( for easier terrain negotiation, mask scent and the ability to harvest ) and the remaining points would go into Rifleman. Was thinking 4/1/0/4 with MCM and 2/0/0/0 scout with 8 points left. Obviously falls short on the riflespeed (+70) but over time I'd hope to make it up to +90 with tapes - or as close as possible.

Any thoughts?

Not tried rifle points but picked up pistol speed ( which are rather more valuable given that a master pistolleer is gimped on speed and most peeps can't go BH to get the speed up ) for nearer 100K to 250K a point. 1mill a point is just plain insane. Farstar ( where this char is ) seems similar ( current high bid on one auction I just looked at was 700K for a +4 and 300K for a +3 tape. Also a +7 went for 800K and a +4 riflespeed tape had a buyout of 900K.

Regarding the accuracy thing is 120 to 160 THAT noticeable? Bearing in mind pistoleer ( which one of my other char's is) only has +95 max and from an accuray POV seems just fine with that. Reason I concentrated on +90 speed is as I understand it, that hits the speed cap.

doesn't CM have its on terrain mobility mods? you probably don't even need scout unless you want to harvest resources.

Oooo didn't notice that. Could still do with being able to harvest resources but can live without mask scent.

That would allow something like 4/2/2/4 .

People aredumb,+1 tapes drop off of Meatlumps and Pest's why would someone pay 100k to 1mil for the that?

Hell a set of bio eng. clothes that gives up to +25 to a skill is under 30k thats less than 2k a point folks!

Inflation happens because people are dumb.

OK I want Flushingshot 2 - please explain what makes it such a good shot ( bearing in mind I only really know the pool target ones and that snipershot gives ranged DB, I think, and concealshot allows you to kill stuff without being spotted.)

It's not the be all and end all shot but...

FlushingShot2 = 4x Damage / Area Effect / Stun Status effect / Posture up

Its a decent attack, especially in group hunts and will net you some nice XP.

As far as the Bowcaster goes, it's pretty sucky once you can get your hands on a decent Laser Rifle or T21 but it's a lot better than some of the other rifles leading up to that.. I have one which is half decent but the problem is it has no Armor piercing but decent damage. Mine powered up is -

4.8 speed , 314 - 554 Damage.. Not too shabby as far as Bowcasters go.

Nice so in effect it's the Rifleman's equivilent ( although by the looks of it better than ) of Pistoleer's fanshot. Sounds like something worth going for fairly early.

It isn't the best shot(ss2), but it's the best shot you get before master. Well, HS3 and snipershot have their uses, and the AoE dizzy is great against crouds of Stormies, but, as you said, FS2 is AoE, 4x dmg, and +stun. Good, good, and good.
