Hey. Well I will tell you what has worked well for me; although this may not be what others say

What & Where to Hunt? - I leveled on Dantooine hunting huurton huntresses. (about 3k per kill for me)

Group or Solo? - Either or works. I have no friends so i mostly solod
Weapons? - A Good quick laser rifle and a decent T21 are my primary weapons

-And Most Important-

What Skills to get first - I went up Sniping first (rifle exp) and Abilities (combat exp)

hope this helps

depend how u play if ur in a group hunting naffs you can get great experience real fast with that aoe attack. counter sniping gives u block i think (what a poor skill still count u can even take damage from a block pritty weak really). as noivce riflman you be having trouble hitting the broadside of a death star so the sniping trees good. i personal went up the countersniping tree went naff group when there was more than one near each other id just start shotting with the aoe forget which one. but u do get 2 i believe at counter sniping 4.

ah, back in the day I got sniping 1 first for the extra mind bleed (bleeds were actually useful at one time :smileyhappy then I went up countersniping for the AOE. I had pets at the time too so the AOE worked well because my pets got all the aggro and I racked in the xp. I think you'll be fine getting conceal 1 and then going up sniping or getting countersniping, just depends on if you'll have tanks or not.

Several good places to level

Dant - Quenkers,Rori - tortons, Lok - snorbals + lots of others... snakes on lok are easy 1-2 shot kills for 600+ xp

Group is good if you want to do harder stuff. Solo is faster in many cases. I hunt in groups because that is my play style- really group or solo is a play style issue with rifleman

laser rifle, T-21, DXR-6b, and berserker if you can get it for pve

generally i would suggest getting conceal shot first if you are soloing, if you have save Combat Xp and still are an elite level combantent i would suggest getting the Combat experience column to at least the 0003 level for an AOE- in summary 0100 if no experience, 0003 if you have the combat experience and can grind enough to get the 3 box

after that - go for boxs that add accuracy and speed

As a budding Rifleman myself, the path I chose.

Sniping IV - DPSsucks when you miss 1/3 of your shots

Tossed in ConcealI, just foroccasional fun.

Of course going up Abilities just as soon as available. Speed is King.

I'm presently 4 1 3 4 and my 2 favorite PvE rifles are a 3.5 Laser (Speed PowerUp'd to 2.4) and a Spraystick with a Damage slice for 74-327 (withDamage PU)

I have mostly done my exp'n on Fambaas on Naboo. They are like any other mob on any other planet of similiar level. About 3800 per kill, and I can hunt them right out my backdoor. There are mobs which will give slightly more exp, but not enough of a gain to make all the travel worth it (IMO)

Personally, I found that the fastest way to level up rifleman was to not watch the xp bar and just go with the flow. You'd be surprised at how fast it rises that way.

When I got novice rifleman, I would hunt anything and everything I came across on Tatooine. If it was a dot on the radar it was dead. OrIwould go to Corellia with a friend and we would lay waste to sharnaffs.

Once I got flushing shot 2 -- level 0030 first -- me and my buddy started going to Dantooine, getting into large solo groups and fighting together. He was going TK, so he'd tank and I'd light them up. We picked any kind of mission -- voritors, huurtons, mokks, jantas, whatever.

Once he hit TKM, we decided to try our hand at rancors on Dathomir. Think I was around 4132 or so. We got in large groups there and picked up enraged rancor missions. Next thing I knew I was picking up 4500-5000 xp per kill and finished off rifleman in 3 nights or 3 hour sessions -- the general xp was the last bit to fall into place.

In the whole time I leveled to Master I never watched my xp bar. If I had I think I'd have gone crazy cause even at 5k a pop, it still seems to crawl when you watch it. By hiding those silly xp bars, it seemed to fly by.

Nice thing is that you don't have to do any of this solo. What a concept huh? Seems most of the current SWG players forget that is a multiplayer game. Get in a group with a friend or 2 or more, and just have fun. You'd be amazed how fast you level that way. If nothing else, you can finish missions, lairs, wild spawns, whatever faster with multiple people attacking, so that means more kills in shorter time. And even if you buddy is TKM tanking a single rancor, as long as he controls that instinctive impulse to lay the smack down on it just cause he can, then you can rake in 5k rifle xp/kill easily. I did it, and there were 3 of us -- myself getting rifle xp, the TKM, and a master doc who was working rifles too.

Hope that helps somewhat.

Ok heres what Im doing and its working great.

Ok first of if you have the ability max out your combat xp, speed is the key.

Next make sure you have a good set of armor with at least 75% kenitic.

Grab 4 or 5 spray sticks (make sure they are good I have several with a max od 250 damage and 1.9 speed)

Your going to need buffs and enough mind to spam specials non stop.

Go to dantooine and hop into a solo group (of over 10people or so)which I find at mining outpost all the time(this increases xp you get from 2500 to 3100 per quenkers and also makes alot more of them spawn you can average around 50k xpper lair this way)

The missions pay around 5100 and these are the BEST(if your haveing trouble pulling one grab a hurton howler 6000 credits, or hurton Stalkers 10000 credits)

Ok ride to your target, again make sure you mind is high you might want to get stats migrated and attack the lair. Get in close and let the quenkers surround you. Now for the fun part, spam "point blank area 1" like none other. This hits every thing directly around you and makes them spawn fast (if you stay right next to lair).

They eventually run away and youll just have to mop them up. Then go back shoot the lair while right next to it. Wait for one or two quenkers to spawn then target one and spam point blank area 1 again, rense repeat till your done.

The reason I find quenkers to be better is that you can kill them much faster therefore grinding is fast but nothing is wrong with hurtons.

Also in respect to having someone tank say at geno lab or with rancors make sure you have flushing shot 2 this makes things so much better. Tanking is great just some times its inconvientent having to interact and get people to go to you and its much more dangerous. I have yet come closed to dying at the hands of quenkers and I doubt I ever will.

Good luck and god speed if your imperial, if your rebel..... go hunt kryats with spraystick that seems to work for rebs.
