While progressng to NR a few days ago, I also leveled through Range Support I-IV on the Marksman tree. Is this really necessary to keep, because I'm thinking that my speed and accuracy will of course progress while moving through the Rifleman tree.

I like to have Marksman Support when levelling, but once you get to MR, it's not so useful. Though if you have CM or SL, you need it anyways

/suppressionfire1 can be very useful when combined with flurry shots. Works just like a dizzy/lunge.

indeed, and it works like a charm on combat medics who have a ranged profession to defend themselves

I found /WarningShot useful for leveling. Especially in the days of no buffs and armor. But once I hit Master Rifleman I dumped it and really haven't had cause to second guess that decision.

I find Suppression Fire extremely useful in PvE. Helps stop those charging mobs in their tracks. I dont PvP so cant comment there. I would think by the time you reach Master you can drop most mobs before they charge at you, so it probably wont be as useful then. Also, until you have high enough accuracy /aim can be useful close up.

I haven't had Ranged Support 4 in awhile and don't miss it all that much. Although I do keep Ranged Support 1 for the /aim command, it would seem like to much of a waste of Rifle Aim abilities not to keep it, plus it came in handy against defense stackers.

as you can see we all have different ideas on whether to keep Ranged Support. I have it as I am a CM as well as a rifleman, and before that I was a SL RM so never gave it up ever.

/aim is a nice command

+6 to ranged defense helps in pve

+2 melee defense = not worth that much but anything helps I guess

Warning shot = great for getting rid of aggro (used mostly when leveling)

Supression Fire = gives the only posture down attack a rifleman can use

+ the ability to go to master marksmen for that extra +5 speed of rifle is nice

generally if you have the points and don't have a place to put them - put em into ranged support it helps, if on the other hand you need the points for something else feel free to do so
