I have a 3% Critical Slice on my ALR and see it going off every now and then in the Combat Log but the damage being generated does not seem to be significantly different than the "non-critical" shots. I was told that perhaps this only works with "Critical Shot" the Bounty Hunter special attack. Is this true, or is there yet something else that I'mmissing?

Good hunting and clear skies.

currently only works for BH

the slice is currently broken for other professions.

Actually its been fixed. 10% critical slice works just fine with my 1174max laser rifle.

target says critical shot has been applied

but the damage is not increased - so it is broken.

Only case I would support slice-based critical strike to work on non-BH professions is, if that critical STACKS with the BH critical shot, OR is somewhat lower in damage output than the critical of BH critical shot.

are you a bounty hunter?

nah. Critical shot just increases the odds of the critical coming off. It does not need to increase the damage more for BH or have a lower damage output.

Bh with critical shot say 10% chance (this may be higher)+ stacked with weapon chance +10% = 20% chance of a critical

none BH with critical slice 10%

so the bh would effectively be hitting criticals 20% of the time when using their shot.

I can again confirm that citical hits are in fact working properly now. Using a 10% critical hit sliced 1174 max bowcaster using ranged shot i was normally hitting for 659. When critical appeared above the aqualish's heads the damage in yellow over thier heads then changed to 823, which is roughly 25% more then a normal ranged shot. So the critical slice does now work with any shot.

Yeah, I was getting the same results as early as 2 weeks ago when I was doing my testing with Ranged/Placed Shots. Curiously though, I did't get a single critical when I was doing my Ranged/Placed Shots testing a day or so ago after Publish 23 went live (and I fired an awful lot of shots), but I was still getting them with Adv Critical Shot, so I am curious if anybody has seen it working with low-end specialssince this publish?
