It would help to know what kind of rifle it is so I'd know what the damage cap is, but assuming it's something like an ALR, I would personally probably do a 4% damage + 4% speed slice on it. Any more than that for damage and you're going to be over the cap for max damage no matter what kind of rifle it is. There are a few other combinations that could be just as good though (including 12% speed), so it's largely a matter of personal preference and what kind of specials and PUPs you like to use.

The two are pretty close to one another except the second has a little more damage. Is it even worth while to slice damage on the second (one slice should get it capped) or should I just go 12% speed?

speed pup and speed slice and you would defeat a jedi quick as hell and laugh your ass off.

I'd agree with hanli9, although if you threw in a 2% speed slice you could just about cap that max damage, if that's important to you. A 12% speed slice would probably be more effective though.

lol with speed you can beat like anyone. with damage you hit much but slow.
