Thread: What is better Swords Or Rifles???

I currently am a master swordsman and I have seen some kick butt riflemen but im not sure if the profession itself is better or its just I suck lol...

lol yeah anyways...
reasons to go rifles..
1) dosent cost much to get speed capped
2) rifles are easy to get, just get a crate of t21's sliced
3) can outdmg anyone on krayt, nyax, and elders... also gorax if ya care
4) the heavy ap on guns takes high level mobs out real fast
5) you CAN solo krayt, gorax, nyax, and even elders withonut a problem with soem novice brawler and medic like stim d's
errrr and yeah stuff dies real fast when yo uuse a rifle...

i used to wanna go that template till i decided to go master pikeman for the better defences and the high kick but dot's that you can stick on other things. and you cna get high damage LVA you can kick just about any NS's but except like elders and a couple others i think. anyways. GL to you on that.

I think im going to go master swords and master rifle with some medic. Sound like a good template???

I keep toying with the idea of going Master Pike to go with Master Rifleman (when I get there), but I just can't force myself to drop Master Ranger....
I never was much of a melee person, I prefer to kill from a distance, so my vote is go Rifleman over Swordsman.

swordsman is a blast if you are speedcaped and got a good ackley hammer.
swinging that 800-900 damage ph like a wooden stick rocks 
But im currently working on my rifleman almost novice, going for master, havent tried it before.
so i cant really say whats best

Rifleman has a GODLY damage output with it's powerfull AP3 weapon, mutliple damage types (Acid, stun, energy, cold), almost capped at master speed and the abiltity to hit the mind specifically. We are extremely powerful at range, but we aren't very good up close, and don't have many defenses.

lol that is why you need to pick up a melee profession. tke them down froma range until they come up close then just whack them up close with ur melee professions. telling you that si the best way. and get a good cob macro's for really tough fights like elders and krayts.

well the problem here is... swordsman have melee mitigation and we do not. riflemen out damage swordsman ANY DAY. we have heavy AP our weapons have higher damage and msot of us are speed capped. however if you plan on doing solo'ing you need swords, IMO. many riflemen will tell you no because we can just conceal shot em but i for one never do because i get bored with sitting there firing shots and not having anyhting to worry about. take for instance, i was at the NS stronghold today with a swordsman buddy, i out damaged him every time, but all the NS were hitting me 500+ through my 80% amror due to melee mitigation. so, the swordsman HAD to tank or i would die. and with swordsman you can stand up to quite a beating from other melee fighters. so if you solo - swordsman if you usually have a tank - rifleman HANDS DOWN

Rifleman easily outdamages everone else, its the defenses that are our heel, even our ranged defenses aren't that great. 2 really good templates are master rifleman, pistolleer 0/0/4/0 fencer 4/4/4/0 medic and scout 1/0/0/0. excelent defenses and decent medic. terrain negotiation to chase people down, it lacks good stun though, but get some BE stun clothing. another fun template is master rifleman, CM 4/0/0/4 doc 4/0/3/0 or 4/0/2/0.
