I'm focusing on TKA, but I have some rifle skills for distance attacks and defense bonuses. I'm debating picking up the branch with block. Could someone clarify exactly what block does?

Will it block both melee and ranged attacks?

Do I need to have my rifle equiped in order to block?

Is it effective?

Any info is greatly appreaciated.

Bump. I haven't seen Block work and am half-way up Counter-Sniping, so I'm interested to know if it works

Maybe it only blocks melee attacks.

That would make it fairly worthless...

As there used to be state of the mob "standing", "sitting", etc, I used to see "Blocking" (icon with bars next to the face). So block is not invoked, and it's passive?

Hmmmm, perhaps I won't pursue that branch after all.

Im a master rifleman and ive yet to "block" anything.

I havnt blocked anything at all, its a very low boost though. Only a total of 20. Wich actually is 20 percent block. It is for shots so you know, read the master counter-sniping. So expect a block against things shooting at you.
