Im seriosly considering it.

As a rifleman with master sniping accuracy and advanced rifle special abilities I considered myself to be a pretty dangerous opponent. Not anymore.

Yesterday me and a friend (with same skill levels) went to Overt imperial and did a raid on Anchorhead. We were having fun, killing people left and right.

Suddenly a charachter steps out of the Cantina. Hes about 80 meters away and overt Rebel. He runs up to 64 meters and hits me for700 mind damage before my aimed headshot3 can go off, im out.My friend gets a 550 dmg HS3 on him with his sooped up DLT20a. The guy then one-shots my friend less than 2 secondsafter he one-shot me.As he walks up to us for the deahtblow I see his title: "Novice Bounty Hunter".

What... the.... hell! I knew Bounty Hunters were capable of +1000 dmg health attacksbut they ALSO get massive mindattacks too?!

Obviously I picked the wrong Proffesion. If Bounty Hunters can attack both mind and health at the same damage that we can, faster than we can, at the same range that we can (he was 60-64 meters away, standing, and hit us both), AND do close range too... what the fuk is the point of being a sniper?

To be a BH you have to be a master marksman first (and master scout as well). Which means that he had at least a specialist level in rifle which means headshot2. That combined with a good rifle means the potential for a 1-shot kill. Of course, now I'm hearing rumblings of a headshot nerf with today's patch so it may take 2 shots now.

Your friend should have dropped him. A dlt20 does not cut it when you're using HS3, it's damage cap is too low. 520 damage is nowhere near the damage someone with HS3 should be doing. Are T21s available on your server? Your friend would likely have hit for around 1500, and not less that 700.

Oh, and Talinthor? He wasnt using a rifle. He wasnt using HS2. He was using a scatterpistol (i think) with the "Eye Shot" attack.

Thats right. Bounty Hunters get a special that specifically targets mind with a pistol. And guess what? It does just as much damage (if not more) than Headshot 3 with an equivalent weapons.

I come up against BH's with eye shot on corbantis pretty often. I have close to 900 mind, though, so I've never been one-shotted. Even if they shoot first, I can usually hit my prone/hs3 macro before they get off their second shot.

If I have the drop on them, though, and they have high mind (higher than the 700 minimum damage I've seen my T21 do), I shoot first with my laser rifle that's sliced down to 4.7 second speed. (It actually shoots at about 3 seconds with my rifle speed bonuses), then followup with a T21 shot. It's always worked so far.

Eye shot is cool, but I've never seen it hit for more than 750 or so, which still should make a balanced-stat, well-equipped riflemanbetter off, as their first shot will almost certainly kill the BH, while they can usually take one shot from the BH. Can anyone confirm/deny thateye shotcan go higher than this?

Meanwhile in the Bounty Hunter forum, some chump is complaining about a decently equiped Riflemen hitting him for 2000+ Mind damage.

If someone did hit him for 2k its with a laser rifle.

Id use one too if it didnt seem like 90% of the time I shoot for 100-200 mind, 8% of the time shoot for 250-1000, and 2% of the time hit for 1050-2500.
