Thread: MRfiles/NCarbs or MCarbs/NRifles?

Hello Rifleman


I am mainly a pistoleer, and in the respec to complement it I took up Master Carbines and Novice Rifleman. When the one day respec came around, I tried to switch to Master Rifles and novice Carbines, but I missed my chance when my internet connection went out. But now the token respec comes along and I've got one more chance.


What do you guys think I should take? The general stats (RD, MD, GRA, GRS) are about the same, so here is what I see as the differences.


Pros of switching to rifles:


  • The range better complements my pistols

  • Sniper shot

  • Higher damage output than carbines

  • Startle shot

  • ?

Cons:



  • I'd lose my only ranged knockdown (charge shot)

  • I already can use an adv laser rifle, I don't think the master weapons are much better

  • I already have disarming shot, do I really need startle?

  • I'd lose a great area attack (Full Auto), but still have a weeker one left (fan shot)

  • I'd lose an area snare

  • I couldn't wear battle armor anymore without major hinderance

Any ideas? Anyone have any experience using both master professions? BTW, I both PvE and PvP. Is the extra damage worth it?
