Fellow Brothers (and sisters) in the Honorable Order of the Long Rifle,
It is time for us to unite and make something clear, we will no longer stand for losing out on loot.
Next time you're in a group and there is ANY potential for looting, demand to have the loot set on lottery. Don't let those melee profs and Jedi tanks take all the loot just because they're in range of every target when it goes down.
We are all very aware who is doing the real damage, and the riflemen deserve an equal chance at the loot. Trust me, a very friendly group can go sour quickly when someone picks up a really valuable skill tape (particularly if it's a Rifle tape).
Obviously this would never happen in real life, since no matter how tough the stick-swinging melee goons think they are, they would never piss off their sniper and then run out to fight with their back turned to a T21 that they're expecting to shoot just past their shoulder.
Since the game doesn't give us the luxury of letting thatone stray shot put down an uncooperative group member, then it's up to us to demand equal treatment up front.
Riflemen Unite! Demand that group leaders set loot type to lottery.

Default group loot is master looter. That means that only the leader can loot. Once the group is formed the leader can change the loot rights by using the /grouploot command. If the loot is changed at any time while you are in the group you will get a warning and it will ask you if you wish to remain in the group. The only thing you have to be aware of is the loot rights of a group when you join the group. Just ask the leader to make it lottery or random.
I don't see why we all need to unite on this. There are rules in the game that will allow a group leader to set the loot rights you want, and they were put in the game for the exact reason you are describing. If the rest of the group just wants to free for all it, it is probably time to find a new group.

Alot of people really don't know how the looting works.
Even veterans, which is kind of weird.
