I dont understand how a +.50 powerup can greatly increase the estimated dps by 200 or so, i just got ripped off earlier today into buying a t21 with a 430 est dps for 2 million, i looked at the stats of the powerup and all that i saw was a speed powerup of -1 or so and a damage increase of .3 or so. whenever i removed the pup the stats greatly went down to 250 estimated dps. is this some sort of bug that im not aware of?

DPS means jack crap!! Look and concentrate on the Max Damage!! All the super sonic speed in the world is not going to help you at all when your action bar is gone after 8 seconds. Higher damage output is the way to go!

good god, 2 mil for a 450 est dps? Damn. I dont judge by dps but with a pup mines upwards of 860 est dps.

not a bug ![]()
i hate it when players sell weapons with pups, but its buyer beware
and yes , a -30% speed pup, can greatly increas the stated DPS. thats NOT to say it will increase your overall damage , read the various threads on pups.

power ups also make your weapons decay faster "unless they changed it" But if you put an ADK on it then it dosnt decay at all

As for pups, I use damage, and my dps is around 560ish
If I get my hands on a SAC I'll use it: they're much better (rather longer duration of shooting than overall dps)
And for speed..they work and up your dps more than the damage ones, but they do ruin your action bar too

The three stats in order of importance.
SAC
Damage
Speed
SAC - Most fights can take a while, and you're no good to anyone with zero on your action bar. Once it starts getting low, say a third, use the generic ranged shot, you'll regen faster then that will wear you down.
Damage - Well...duh, hitting hard is a good idea.
Speed - Unless its a surprise attack against something weak, speed aint much of an issue. Sure it should be low, it can only help, but there is no point sacrificing SAC or Dam for it. Unfortunately this is what has the largest affect on DPS, meaning DPS itself is largely screwed. A good way to define a weapons worth is the Estimated Usage Quotient. Divide the Base DPS by your SAC, e.g. 350 DPS / 75 SAC = 5. Depending on your level and price, I say anything under 3.5 aint worth your time.
Oh yeah, and dont buy weapons with pups already on them.

Well, shouldn't we focus more on Modified DPS instead, if we're going to be using it??

Mod DPS is just base DPS with the speed mods of your template added into the equation, meaning its just as screwed as base DPS. With the EUQ you can compare all weapons without your template effecting it, which is good if you've yet to make up your mind on your template, and you wont know the Mod DPS until you've bought the thing.
