Almost no value to me personally. General ranged aiming, the main defense, adds to your ability to use the /aim command when firing. /aim takes a combat turn and does make it so that you hit more often, but is not particularly useful except in pvp against very hard to hit opponents.

An alternative that I would suggest is novice medic with maybe the speed or healing since you wouldn't have much left over. I believe being able to throw a stim b on in the heat of a battle will serve you more than being able to use a rare-chance to hit posture down (suppressiong fire - the ranged support 4 skill) or have an extra 6 ranged defense.

Cheers,

Thanks. That's great advice.

Yeah, basically I can do one novice ... medic, or scout.

Not-necessarily-unrelated: How would you make cash with this template? Hunting just for cash and loot (instead of skins)? Using extra slots for harvesters? (Gotta find the hot spots, of course.)

Anyway, thanks for taking the time.

i had ranged support 4 for a while but have since dropped it for scout to help my doc career.

dont think ranged support is that useful, except i do use the /aim command in macros

and being able to tumble is good as well

If you are imp get an at-st and go to dant imp outpost and do mokk or janta 26k missions, preferably janta since you can sell the hides and blood also. As a master rifle man you can solo the lairs use a jawa rifle and head shot 3 them to death. Spend the extra skill pts on med, or tk(powerboost lines, it iwll give you more mind). Just my two cents.

Thanks. I'm TKM/Brawler/Rifleman ... so I could *only* do one -- Novice Scout + Hunting 1, or Novice Medic + 1 box.

High-end loot method: Krayt graveyard. KD (I know, Krayts can be kd'd? yes :smileyhappy /warcry, run to 60 meters and HS3 or Strafe2 till it's close/rinse/repeat. You can solo krayts all day with your template - will just cost you wear on your armor and time. You can use similartactics on just about any MOB in the game - you have a greattemplate for soloinghigh-end content. Probably can't take an acklay or super battle droid very easily, but that'sabout it.

Grindmethod: Dantooine, research outpost city, get 32k janta/mokk missions. Can do at least 10 missionsper hour if you're moving fast. You can makeabout a million per set of buffs.

i would suggest finding an faction friendly player city with specialization "improved job market" to get even higher paying missions.

Thanks! With that vote of confidence I'll just use the 18 SP for fun! Actually, I love the template -- much more into PvE anyway.

Hehe.

Hi all,

I'm TKM/Master Brawler/Master Rifleman with 18 SPs left.

I have a ton of extra combat xp and was thinking of adding the Marksman Ranged Support tree for the "bonuses," which are cumulatively:

Ranged Defense +6
General Ranged Aiminng: +30
Alertness +10

How valuable have you found these to be, if at all?

Otherwise, I was going to spend the SP on Scout skills for harvesting so I can hunt/harvest/sell -- you know, put food on the table. I'm mostly a PvE guy anyway.

Reax?
