Hi, im a TKM and would like a ranged profession to go with it, so I was just wondering whether to go for Pistoleer or Rifleman, i've been reading this board and Rifleman looks very appealing. So I just wanted some people's opinions. I know this has been addressed before but circumstances change in this game, as i have been absent from it for 4 months.
Thanks in advance.

I spent several months as a master pistoleer, and I am currently working rifleman. I can tell you with certainty that as a rifleman you will do more damage sooner, and you will be much more powerfull at master than as a master pistoleer.
I also have a melee profession...I'm a master heavy swordsman. We don't need a ranged weapon for point blank range, but rather one for distance because once the creature or player closes the distance we simply switch to our melee prof.
To add to those points, the grind is easier for rifleman than for pistoleer, IMO.

Weird thats exactly where Im at and how I feel. Pistols IMO wasnt that great compared to rifles, I guess in part because now I can hit the mind all the time.

I would say do a lilttle of each and see what you LIKE. But if u r asking which is more powerful, rifles is, but which will cost u more, also rifles (due to weapons being more expensive and constant food needed). Rifle will also be harder and take longer to master, but it is prob also worth it more.

There is no reason in the game to be any other combat profession than Rifleman.
We're that broken.

Pistoleer with a damage sliced krayt GSB will kill rifleman with standard damage sliced jawa without taking even half damage, but theother pistolsare crap and most of their specials are broken or useless.

A helm or chest can have up to 45% stun resists and the jawa being ap1 will have that resist. If you have even 1% in your chest and you fire a GSB its going to block 51% of the damage. Ive been both and rifleman beats pistoleer in everyway. More accuratce, faster damage output, better specials and better weapons.

What about master rifle, pistol 4-0-4-4? Wouldn't the defenses be worth it or are there better templates out there for that kind of stuff?

you are better off mixing it with a melee like fencer or tka. you'll be tougher and also have the ability to switch at close range

The only problem with that is having to take the 15 point novice brawler. that would eat up a lot of skill points. i already have master marksman to work with....
