Thread: Question about Template and DPS

Hello all, this is a new account that I just got so excuse not having cool icons and a glowy name. I have been out of the game since about 3 weeks before CU, mainly cause of work and school. Just now getting back in and was wondering about some of the stats that I have on my current character. Here is what my template looks like atm:
Master Bounty Hunter, Master Rifleman, 4000 Combat Medic
+25 Rifle Defense AA, +25 General Ranged Accuracy CA
Speed: 120
Accuracy: 290
Melee Def: 195
Ranged Def: 270
T21 Rifle Stats (sliced/no pup):
2.8 speed
541-1089 damage
104 SAC
Here is the thing my DPS is only like 484. I have seen people with well over 500 DPS on rifles with lower stats. I am thinking that once I get +25 Rifle Speed and +25 General Speed my DPS will improve, but does it really effect it that much?
Also what sort of PuP's would you recomend, SAC/dmg/speed?
Last but not least, I heard the max damage for a T21 or Laser rifle was around 1150, should I be keeping my eyes open for one of these, and what should I expect to pay?

I am using a T21 right now and am looking into getting an Advanced Laser Rifle since I hear they are very good now.

Your rifle's max damage is a little low & SAC is kinda high. I bought a laser rifle last week with about 1185 max damage & 82 SAC for 1.5 mil (varies by server). DPS doesnt matter muchas long as you're using specials (They have re-use timers). If you just auto ranged shot then DPS comes into play. All in all you got a pretty good setup, I would just get a new rifle and some damage powerups (30%+ is good). They'll lower your rifle speed, but again, that doesn't really matter so long as you use specials.
